Because some things are fixed points in time. They have to happen. Like Vesuvius erupting and destroying Pompeii. Or the Time War. He can't do anything about it. Plus, it was a pretty massive war. One person stopping it, that's a pretty massive feat, even for our beloved Doctor.

Has anyone seen The Waters of Mars yet? I watched it yesterday, but it's still sinking in

Re: I have a question about doctor who

No, haven't watched Waters of Mars yet. I'm waiting for a time when I can watch it with my 2 other friends who watch DW with me.

I watched The Water Of Mars on sunday and thought it was amazing!
I thought it was really cleverly done because the doctor knew he couldn't help them and the bit where he was walking away hearing things play out like he knows they have to was really well done. I have to say it was one of my favourite doctor who episode!

I watched the Waters of Mars that Sunday it came out. It made me look forward to the Christmas specials!

Doctor Who returns to BBC America with ...a new Doctor Who.

Matt Smith joins a long line of docs — he's No. 11 after David Tennant — on the long-running series. Get a sneak peek of Smith and fellow newcomer Karen Gillan, who will play time-traveling companion Amy Pond:
