I knew from pretty much the beginning it would be between Lee and Crystal.

Randy Jackson predicted Crystal will win. Simon thinks Lee will win. I'm thinking Crystal cause it's been a guy the last two years.

But, wouldn't it be funny if there was actually a tie with the votes? Whatever would they do then?

As for Simon's replacement, I say Harry Connick Jr. is a good choice. :) But I really wish Simon would stay. But if he isn't happy, then I guess he feels its best for him if he leaves.

My sister thinks Harry Connick Jr. would be a good replacement; I have to agree. He's freakin' hilarious and talented. :)

If I had to choose a winner, I'd go with Lee. Crystal has more talent but Lee seems to be more marketable and radio-friendly. I don't think Crystal could be pushed around very easily. *shrugs*

I'll probably buy both contestants' records though. :)

And not to mention a total cutie. :D

I dunno. It could really go either way.

It could go either way, remember last year? everyone thought it would be Adam Lambert [who's career has gone gold] and it was [sorry I forget his name] and Crystal is her own person and I don't think anyone pushes her around and she's very opinionated & she's a strong cookie. I [as a former hairdresser] would like to cut, shampoo and style her hair though. And they need to fix her two missing teeth, before they go on tour:)

Kris Allen was his name. :)

I agree about Crystal's hair. Sometimes it looks really pretty, but other times it looks kind of messy.

Last nights show~

LEE "The Boxer"~
His voice is so soothing & so pleasant he's enjoyable, nice job~

CRYSTAL "Me And Bobby McGee"~
OMG. Janis Joplin reincarnated, wherever she is, she heard this one:eek: She brings me to my knees, and tears. I got chills, her voice is so powerful COMPELLING:bolian:

LEE "Everybody Hurts"~
He's so good, great version he really belted it out~

CRYSTAL "Black Velvet"~
WOW, agian, so much soul, I love this song. I use to listen to it, when I lived in Vegas, and they played it on the intercom in a little neighborhood casino I frequented. A haunting song, and she did it great:thumbsup: Ellen on her costume changes "Like being a a Cher concert"

LEE Sorry I missed this one:(

CRYSTAL "Up To The Mountain"~
A slow blues song, she's just phenomenal, can sing anything fantastic. She congraulated Simon and wished him good luck on his new endeavor, nice ;) Ellen "She is crazy about her too, about her doing anything and said " If you make a salad I'll eat it":rommie: I like Lee, he's a sweetheart, but Crystal is one of the best "AI" CONTESTANTS EVER~~~~~I think she'll win this one~

DW, Lee's song that you missed was U2's "Beautiful Day".

Lee!!! Wow! I was surprised. I thought for sure Crystal would win. But I love how shocked Lee was and that he was so gracious about it. He's a geniune guy, a very sweet guy. That has to be the best reaction by a winner thus far. Congrats, Lee!

Dane Cook was actually funny on here (I usually don't find him humorous lol). Paula was great. My favorite moment had to be Bret Michaels though. I loved that he was there. He is such a fighter and I'm glad he's feeling better. Keep rockin', Bret! I wonder how come David Cook and Adam Lambert and Katherine McPhee weren't there. I'm sure Jennifer Hudson was too busy. I imagine Chris Daughtry is on tour. maybe Adam and David are on tour as well. Possible Katharine too.

I've kept an eye out on this season, one ear to the ground and dipped my toes in here and there, though more so towards the end, simply because of Crystal. I've watched all of her performances, and she's been astounding at times, and a little worrisome at other times, but overall, for me, the best performer of the entire season.

I'm not too disappointed she didn't win becaue Lee's a good singer as well, but for me, not in the same league as Crystal. For me, Crystal has a beautiful voice, whether she's grating out a song or singing pure as she did with her last song. For me, Lee can only grate the songs and after a while it gets a bit boring hearing the same tonal quality to whatever song he's singing, hence why I skipped to the end of "Everybody hurts" and most of his single song.

All in all, I sincerely hope Crystal releases "Holy Toledo" and her last song of the evening as singles because I'd buy them as soon as was earthly possible. I also sincerely hopes she doesn't do a 'Danny Gokey' and go all Country on me, because there is far too much repertoire in her for her to be stuck in one genre, (the same goes for Danny and someone should tell him that because all the while he's stuck in Country I won't be buying any of his records - which for me is a great shame).

Still as said, it was refreshing for me to see two quality singers make the final, unlike last year, but it was a shame and slightly disappointing that whom I regarded to be the better singer and performer didn't actually win, but not outraged at all :)

:)

Oh and it was downright wonderful to see Will Young, though the song he was singing "Better Leave Right Now" is one of his first releases over here in the UK. Still a brilliant song though and so well sung by him too :)

I like country music somewhat, but when I first heard that Danny went country, I didn't think it would suit him, but I sampled his album and it actually sounds pretty good.

There was only a 2% difference in the votes? Wow! That is the closest its ever been I think. If I recall the difference in votes between Carrie and Bo was said to have been 4%.

I read that Adam Lambert tweeted that he was not invited to the Idol finale. If that's true, that's strange because he was on there this season as a mentor. Why wouldn't he be invited back for the finale?

I thought Paula was funny when she teased Simon about there being a baby backstage with his haircut and "sweetheart, its your turn to feed him".

My favorite moment of the night (besides Lee's reaction to his win) was still Bret Michaels' appearance.

I too don't mind a bit of Country, and I've also heard Danny's Country album, but it's just not my cup of tea really. I thought he was sublime when he sang "Jesus Take The Wheel" and the last song he sang of his time in the competition, and "What hurts The Most" - all three of those songs brought tears to my eyes because it seemed like he'd put his heart and soul into all of those songs, but his Country album while it was okay, it was nothing special. Dime a dozen for me if I'm brutally honest.

I thought the finale episode, the two hour one, was the best I've ever seen on Idol. Christina Aguelira (sp?) really surprised me, as did the quality of Janet Jackson's voice. Fantastic stuff.

All in all though, I thought Crystal shone throughout the finale episode, note, pitch and emotionally perfect with every song she sang. I have to say though, the reason I'm not bitterly disappointed Crystal didn't win is because both of them are such genuine, lovely and talented people, that's it not hard at all to accept that Lee won. I hope he goes far, but I hope Crystal goes farther :D

I thought Simon's send-off was lovely and funny and he got to me when he went up on stage to say see ya later. Great stuff!! I really hope Pop Idol USA is a hit for him too.

:)

I don't think people get stuck in country music, they choose it not because they are forced to but because they feel its more for them. But I have seen many country music stars who have appeared on the pop charts with a song that is originally country. and pop/rock stars who went country as a guest or for something different.

Thing is I don't think there are dividers anymore (other then maybe some metal and rap) between the styles. There are some many catagories of pop, rock, country, contemporary, country rock. Etc.

Course I preferre country more or music from the 60's to early 90's. Some now days but not many.

As to Crystal, it wasn't that I didn't like her she has a good voice, but just something about her that I didn't care for, I think part of the problem with some who feel the same as me or don't like her is they over hyped her imo, they tend to do this with many on these type shows, you over hype them and in that only puts the person on the edge waiting to see if there is a step down or nothing at all. when pushed.

Thank's for the news on the song by Lee,GNRF a bit late for now, and
congrat.gif
to LEE I guess I was a bit stunned but earlier in the evening, some newscaster announded the winner, I was p...off, cause I wanted to be surprised. He won by only a 2% lead, that's close. I was more shocked last season that Adam didn't win, so one never knows. Crystal is one of the best singers ever.. Her voce is incredible. I'd like to see her and Adam on tour together. And I hope she continues on this path, which I'm sure she will. I'm glad that Lee was so overwhelmed and so humble on his win:bolian: He's a real nice, sweet guy ;) This finale was a MAGICAL, MAJESTIC, MUSICAL, MASTERPIECE the lineup incredible. My overview of this last night of this season~

The Bee Gees, the two remaining ones singing "How Deep Is Your Love", still great~ and so much older~

Michael MacDonald form the "Doobies" "Taking It To The Streets" and big Mike singing along, so great~

Dane Cook insulting Simon with a silly song~

Christina Aguilera singing "Words Can't Bring Me Down" boy, can she wail~

Ricky Gervis bantering silly things about Simon:lol:

Hall and Oates, booy did John get old w/ white hair but Daryl still basically looks the same. "I Can't Go For That" and "Maneater", talk about an oldie:rolleyes:

Crystal "You Outta Know" and Alanis Morisette, Crystal almost out sang her:eek:

Carrie Underwood.. no comment~

Then out came Bret Michaels wow:wtf: he looked great and sounded great, after all the trauma he's been through "Every Rose Has It's Thorn, with Casey sang along~

Then "Chicago" wow I used to love them and their old too, sang a medley of their hits. with Lee tuning in~

Simon uncovered crazy silly clips of him ~

"Pants On The Ground" w/ the guy who did that with others~

Then Paula talking to the judges and to Simon "There's nobody like you" Simons goodbye he seemed sad:( Former Idols Kelly Clarkson and too many to name [where was Adam]?

Simon spoke and he was emotional and said he would "miss everyone" and hugged Ryan and Paula:(

Then Janet Jackson, came out with a shaved head, she looks so much like Michael and sang and danced. She's so talented~

THen Lee and Crystal started singing "With A Little Help From My Friends", and lo-and-behold out walks Joe Cocker:wtf: and he's so old too, I haven't seen him in years and they all sang this together electric, fantastic.. A great great show. I loved every minute of it. and Good Luck to you Simon:bolian: in your new endeavors~
