The CSI: Crime Scene Investigation writing staff can now theoretically call their boss "doctor".
Creator and executive producer <font color=yellow>Anthony Zuiker</font> recently received an honorary doctorate of human letters from his alma mater, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the Associated Press reported.
"The university means a great deal to me," Zuiker said. "I had great relationships with professors on campus who guided me through my years here. I have always had the same dreams: win an Oscar, win an Emmy, and receive a doctorate."
With only one feature film credit, Zuiker hasn't yet scored an Oscar, but he was nominated for an Emmy last year in his capacity as an executive producer when CSI was one of the nominees for Oustanding Drama Series. The forensic series has remained his crowning achievement to date. "It's the one that really launched Anthony Zuiker into the mainstream of Hollywood," he recalled.
Zuiker graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1991 with a BA in Communication Studies. In 2002, he was one of nine graduates to receive an Alumni of the Year award. Like many writers, Zuiker has paid homage to his alma mater in his scripts. According to the official CBS web site, both Catherine Willows and Warrick Brown graduated from UNLV
