Re: The Oscars 2007

Thanks for posting it Tinkerbell.(You beat me this time :p).

I'm happy about El laberinto del fauno (easier to spell than Pan's Labyrinth),it's a great film and despite competing for Mexico,it's half Spanish as the cast is from Spain and it was shot here.
And we have another 2 Spaniards there:penélope Cruz (I'm sure Helen Mirren is gonna win that one) and Javier Navarrete for Pan's Labyrinth awesome soundtrack.

I'd love that Little Miss Sunshine get the award,it's an hilarious movie but comedies are always on disadvantage with dramas and I don't know why as it's more difficult to make people laugh than to make them cry and much better. ;)

Maybe you're confusing the Oscars with the Golden Globes. That was held last week.

Thanks for posting this, Tink.

This might sound mean but Im so glad that Beyonce wasn't nominated for Dreamgirls. There were so many rumours saying she might get a nod but her performance wasn't that impressive nor Oscar-Worthy, IMO. I'm really happy for Jennifer Hudson though, she was really great in Dreamgirls.

And LOL @ Borat

ETA: How did I forget Ryan Gosling..!? Im so excited for him, I haven't seen the movie but he's an amazing actor.

I'm glad Little Miss Sunshine got nominated too! That was a really great film! :)

Re: The Oscars 2007

I'm so glad that 'The Queen' got lots of oscar nominations. The Brits did well this year. I hope that Helen Mirren wins 'Best Actress' but I won't be complaining if Judi Dench gets it instead!

Re: The Oscars 2007

I hope Paul Greengrass get Best Director because United 93 was really well-handled considering the subject matter and a mind-blowing film. But I think Martin Scorsese will get it because he's never got one before and a lot of actors and big-names in the industy are complaining about it
I think the Brits should do well this year espeically Helen Mirren for The Queen.

Re: The Oscars 2007

Thanks for posting the rest of the list Dynamo.
There are 2 Spaniards nominees on the category of best live action short film:"Binta y la gran idea" by Javier Fesser and "Éramos pocos" by Borja Cobeaga. :)

Re: The Oscars 2007

Thank's for posting this.. I was at work.. so missed the annoucement.. I'm just ssurprised that Matt Damon didn't get a nod for "The Good Shepard" he was phenomenal ;) and "Little Miss Sunshine" really good!! and Greg Kennar, didn't get a nom. either.. he was great.. but Alan Arkin.. the nasty old grampa.. was good!! and I knew Meryl would get a nom.. isn't she outstanding in everything she does? she also was fantastic in "Prada" haven't seen the rest..

Re: The Oscars 2007

Thanks for posting these Tink. :)

Awesome. I'm pulling for Ryan Gosling for best actor. He was phenomenal in 'Half Nelson,' and SO deserves the best actor recognition.

Re: The Oscars 2007

Yay for Borat getting nominated! It will be great success if he wins in his catergory .

I'm also rooting for Ryan Gosling as he's a Canadian like moi. I'm also going for Little Miss Sunshine as it has Steve Carrell in there & that man is love.

I also have to echo Dynamo's sentiment of Casino Royale not getting nominated for anything. That's bs . The theme song should've gotten a nom, especially if a song like It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp can .
