The Futon Critic posted summaries for the final episodes of CSI and CSI: Miami, which will air in April and May. Four new episodes remain of each show.
On Thursday, April 29th, CBS will air the new CSI episode "Dead Ringer". Here is the summary for "Dead Ringer":<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>The CSI team are busy trying to get to the bottom of two murders that happen during the annual law enforcement running race in Las Vegas, one where a runner is found dead while competing and the other back at the hotel where two police officers are found murdered on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Thursday, April 29 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Ken Fink directed the episode from a script by Elizabeth Devine. The CSI graveyard shift competes in the annual law enforcement running race until they discover a runner found dead in the desert. Their murder investigation becomes dicey when all of the suspects/participants are cops. Meanwhile, Sara and Warrick investigate what initially appears to be a murder/suicide involving two other police officers, until the evidence suggests they've both been murdered.</font></blockquote>[/list]
The new CSI: Miami episode "Not Landing" airs on Monday, May 3:<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>The CSIs investigate the lives of those living in a high-end airpark after a prop plane crashes into a Miami beach, on CSI: Miami, Monday, May 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Joe Chappelle directed the episode written by Shane Brennan and Marc Dube from a story by Jonathan Glassner. After the plane crashes and the pilot dies, Horatio finds remnants at the crash site of chemical used in making cocaine, and it seems that the victim's business partner may have sabotaged the aircraft. However, when evidence suggests that the pilot may have died before the crash, the team investigates the victim's neighbors -- all wealthy residents of a secluded cul-de-sac where lust, jealousy and greed are dangerous motives for murder.</font></blockquote>[/list]
Thursday, May 6 will feature the new CSI episode "Turning of the Screw", which was formerly known as "A Turn of the Screws" and "A Screw Turned Loose." The episode focuses on a rollercoaster disaster at a theme park:<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>The CSI team investigates when a roller coaster leaves its tracks killing six individuals, on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Thursday, May 6 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). Deran Sarafian directed the episode from a story by one of the series’ executive producers Carol Mendelsohn & Rich Cataloni and a teleplay by Josh Berman. The CSI team work together to investigate the derailment of a roller coaster at a local amusement park that results in the death of six people. They must determine if it was an accident or murder.</font></blockquote>[/list]
On Monday, May 10, CSI: Miami's new episode, "Rap Sheet":<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>A security guard is found dead after shots ring out at a rap star's concert and the CSIs must investigate on CSI: Miami, Monday, May 10 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. David Grossman directed the episode written by Ildy Modrovich & Corey Miller. Rap sensation Xzibit guest stars. Rap star 10-Large (guest star Xzibit) won't talk to the police regarding the murder or why someone would try to kill him. But when evidence suggests that perhaps 10-Large's bodyguard was the intended target, the CSIs must look into the dangerous world of personal security. Meanwhile, Alex gets the shock of her life when a supposed cadaver from a recent car accident wakes up in her morgue.</font></blockquote>[/list]
On Thursday, May 13, CSI's new episode "No More Bets", which features the return of Catherine's father, Sam Braun, will air.<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>The CSI team investigates a double murder at the casino of Catherine’s biological father, where he becomes the prime suspect, on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Thursday, May 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT). Richard Lewis directed the episode from a teleplay by Naren Shankar, one of the series’ executive producers, Carol Mendelsohn and Judith McCreary and a story by Andrew Lipsitz and Dustin Lee Abraham. The bodies of two gambling cheats are discovered shot execution style, shortly after being caught scamming several of Sam Braun's casinos, making Sam the number one murder suspect. Grissom is forced to take Catherine off the case because of her biological tie to Sam.</font></blockquote>[/list]
A special episode of CSI: Miami will air on Monday, May 17th. "MIA/NYC-Nonstop" will introduce the characters who will headline Fall 2004's CSI: New York including Mac Taylor, who will be played by <font color=yellow>Gary Sinise</font> (Of Mice and Men, Forrest Gump):<ul><blockquote><font color=yellow>Horatio (David Caruso) goes to New York to work with his Big Apple counterparts in a murder investigation. On Monday, May 24, the second season finale of CSI: Miami, entitled "We Never Close" will air. CSI Files has just learned that the episode will revolve around the murder of an adult film star (story).
