Something special about November 3rd?

This may end in a stupid question, but:
Today on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two everyone had something clipped on their clothes. It was a sort of round and orange pineapple. I also saw it somewhere else. Anyone knows what that means?

I know that it's "Culture Day" in Japan... but I'm not sure if that would necessarily be it.

Maybe it had something to do with the day the show was taped?
