Some Buried Bones

I saw Some Buried Bones last night for the 1st time and they were talking about an 'absence spoon'. Did I hear it right or were they saying something else? What is an absence spoon?

I think they were talking about absinthe , a herbal liqeur which is banned in some countries. Maybe it's available in other forms, so the 'spoon' bit. Not too sure about how you can take it.

The item I think you are talking about is a "Absinthe spoon".
Information about the spoon "A perforated or slotted spoon was used to dissolve a sugar cube into a glass of absinthe, usually in order to sweeten the drink and counteract its mild bitterness. The bowl of the spoon is normally flat with a notch in the handle where it rests on the rim of the glass. Originating circa the 1860s, absinthe spoons were often stamped with brand names or logos as advertising, much like modern alcohol paraphernalia"
