Hello World!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Of course, we don't celebrate the 4th down here. I mean, we go get the day off and all (some of us), but you won't see any fireworks around here. Cause we're a territory.

So light some fireworks (the legal ones, of course), have some fun, and don't drink and drive, or attempt to give yourself a new haircut.

Also, Happy Filipino-American Friendship Day in the Philippines. It's a party around the globe!

Here's what was hot back in early July of 2003:

[*]Devine Sets The Record Straight
CSI co-producer Elizabeth Devine revealed the dos and don'ts of crime scene investigation. "Nobody would ever eat or drink or do anything in the lab; that's what offices are for," Devine told the New York Post. "I lost a couple battles, particularly Dr. Robbins eating in autopsy," she said. "There's just no way anyone would do that because it's so disgustingly gross in there and it smells terrible."

[*]'Miami' Heads Down Under
CSI: Miami and Without a Trace premiered in Australia two years ago in the Nine Network. Miami premiered on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 8:30 p.m.

[*]Spike TV Gets The Go-Ahead
Two years ago, director Spike Lee sued Spike TV for allegedly infringing the use of his name. Lee told the press he did not want to be associated with the content of the network, which now reruns CSI. The courts, however, ruled in favor of Spike TV. "We have settled the case with Viacom," Terry Gross, one of Lee's legal team, said. "It's obviously good when parties settle." [/list]

[*]Tonight, CBS will air a repeat of the CSI: Miami episode, "Game Over". Here's a brief description of the episode:

"Extreme skateboarder and videogame tester, Jake Sullivan, is found dead on the half-pipe platform used to program extreme skateboarding video games. The CSIs discover that he was wearing reflective sensors when he was killed, so the motion-capture device used to produce these videogames recorded the murder as it happened, but not the murderer. Now the CSIs delve into the highly competitive world of videogame programmers and testers to find the killer."

[*]On Wednesday night at 10/9c, CBS will air CSI: New York's "American Dreamers". Here's a preview:

"When a tourist discovers a skeleton on a Times Square double-decker tour bus, the CSIs must investigate whether the remains were left there as a practical joke or if the person was murdered. After closely examining the remains, Dr. Hawkes discovers that the victim was likely a Caucasian male teenager who died from a blow to the head more than 10 years ago. Their search leads them to a bus station and a missing boy who disappeared in 1987. The team must then piece together the clues to find out how the boy really died and who was to blame."

[*]Another one of CSI's syndicated episodes will also air on Thursday night at 9/8c. Here's a description of "Nesting Dolls":

"When two female corpses are uncovered in a new housing development construction area, the CSIs are led into the world of Russian mail-order brides, where young women get work visas and come to America hoping to land a man who will marry them and give them citizenship. Meanwhile, Sara is reprimanded by Ecklie for an inappropriate comment and ends up opening up to Grissom about her long-held family secret."
