CSI Files

Captain
Hello World!

Every year I usually give a couple of new shows a chance. This year my new shows were Skin and Tarzan...the former because of its loose adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, the latter because of, well, Lucy Lawless and Travis Fimmel.

They've both been cancelled already. Is it me, or have this fall's offerings been even worse than usual?

I can't blame the reality show trend, as there are fewer now than there were several months ago. It's not just the new shows either: West Wing is depressing, 24 is boring me, and Smallville has way too much Lana and way too little Lex.

How many CSI clones are there at present, anyway? And how many versions of Law & Order will people put up with? Is it just that people like what's familiar? When will someone come up with a drama as innovative as X-Files was when it first came on the air?
