Captain
Hello World!

I'm only about a third of the way through season three so far, and I haven't seen any season two at all. But based on what I've seen, season one seems to have consistently strong episodes, while some of the season three offerings have been a little weak.

It's supposedly winter here in Australia. I say supposedly because there doesn't seem to be any sort of agreement about which season it is - it's mildly warm one day, freezing the next, and sometimes the weather cycles through all the seasons in one day.

Last Thursday it rained on and off all day. To add a bit of variety, we had some blustery winds to go with it. With my annoying little umbrella, which probably should have been consigned to the garbage bin many months ago, I didn't stand a chance, especially since the aforementioned umbrella kept blowing inside out as I was walking the stree, much to the amusement of the other pedestrians.

Though that wasn't quite as bad as the bus incident from a couple of weeks back. There's nothing quite like trying to board a bus with 50 million other university students in the pouring rain.Hello World!

There's nothing quite like trying to board a bus with 50 million other university students in the pouring rain. For one thing, everyone's got their little umbrellas up, half of them with their spikes sticking out (I must admit to being a guilty party in this regard), making it a challenge to get to the door with both eyes intact. Then you have to protect your bus ticket from the pouring rain before it gets soaked and doesn't work in the machine, all the while juggling to put your umbrella down and get onto the bus.

I finally managed to get on and secured a plum seat (ie: one that wasn't soaking wet from previous occupants' umbrellas). By the time everyone else loaded on, the temperature was roughly akin to a tropical rainforest. Then the bus wouldn't start. After much spluttering, we all had to get off and board the bus behind us. It, of course, was almost full and left shortly afterwards.

So we waited in the rain for the bus to come back to life. The driver closed the doors, presumably because he feared for his safety with a mass of annoyed, wet students outside with large pointy objects. Eventually we got back on the bus and, you guessed it, it stopped raining.
