CSI Files
Captain
<font size="3">Hello World!</font>
After a lengthy absence during our summer, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has finally returned to Australia for its third season on our screens. As I haven't seen any of the second season, I had a bit of catching up to do on some of the character developments, such as Sara's boyfriend and Grissom's hearing loss.
Although late to the game, I loved the way Grissom's deafness played out in "The Accused Is Entitled", complementing the episode's plot without overwhelming it. Great stuff. Despite the fact that it's ostensibly a plot, rather than character, based series, CSI cleverly weaves aspects of the team's lives into the episodes, and it was especially satisfying to see events from previous episodes come back to haunt the crew in the courtroom scene.
One of the critics from the local newspaper didn't give the episode a very good write-up because he said Grissom pulled the ending out of his hat, but he didn't seem to have watched the episode very closely. Sara and Grissom had been studying the second mark on the bed sheets earlier on in the episode: it was a piece of evidence that was there, but the CSIs just hadn't figured out what it signified.

[*]There will be no episode of CSI: Miami tonight as it has been pre-empted by basketball. The series will return with an all-new episode on Monday, April 14.
[*]TNN will be showing CSI's "Caged" at 11:00 p.m. tonight. Here's the official synopsis of the episode:
<font color=yellow><blockquote>"Grissom and Nick investigate the death of a book restorer while Catherine and Sara are called to the scene of a fatal train crash. When the female book restorer is found dead and locked inside a "cage," a temperature-controlled workspace, Grissom and Nick attempt to determine whether this is a case of suicide or homicide. They discover that the key to solving the case may be a co-worker who suffers from autism. Meanwhile, Catherine and Sara are sent to comb through the wreckage of a collision between a train and an SUV and find out if it is a case of road rage or simply an accident."

[*]CBS will be showing the all-new CSI episode "A Night At The Movies" at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday. Here's how TV Guide describes the episode:
<font color=yellow><blockquote>"The CSIs investigate two murders - one in a movie theater, the other in an abandoned warehouse - that are even more bizarre and perplexing than usual. The first case takes Grissom and Catherine to a dingy art house, where a moviegoer was stabbed in the back of the head with a screwdriver. Apparently, the man was killed during a noisy on-screen gunfight, perhaps by a tall redheaded woman seen leaving the theater during that scene. Across town, a team tries to unravel the mystery of a badly bruised 15-year-old boy found shot to death in a bullet-riddled warehouse, where more than 100 rounds were fired from every conceivable angle, including the roof."
