"She saw everything." Sandle

Dutchie

Coroner
Well, this was the fic I promised to write for the opening of the new Sandle thread. It has been open for a while now, but here's my fic.

Disclaimer: Not mine. Don't sue.
Summary: Looking back on 4x4, and a little scene I added myself. Come on, we all know it happened!

“Sara, I just want you to know that when we were in the shower together, I didn’t see anything.”
“Really? Gosh, I saw everything!”

Both of them had been really surprised when she said that. She wondered what made her say that. No, she wondered what made her confess that. It was true, she’d seen everything. Not that she intended to, but it was just a temptation too big to resist.

Both of them had been really surprised when their arms were suddenly grabbed and they were pulled out of the house, into a blue tent, quickly being told that they could be contaminated. Great. That was just what they needed.

Both of them had been really surprised by the coldness of the water that rinsed over them, while they hoped that they were okay and it was only a false alarm. Much to their relief, it was a false alarm. Great.

Both of them had been really surprised by their conversation while walking through the hall. He was being a gentleman by telling her he hadn’t peaked. He probably expected an answer like: “Me neither.” He definitely didn’t expect the answer she gave him.

Both of them had been really surprised when they went for drinks after they’d closed the case. She had been surprised about the fact that he asked her. He was surprised about the fact that she’d said yes. But it was fun. She hadn’t laughed so much in a long time. He hadn’t seen her laugh so much…ever.

But both of them had been the most surprised by the sweet goodbye they said after he’d walked her home and she’d opened the door. She turned around to him and smiled.

“You know…maybe we’ll get even one day.”

His eyes widened slightly and he grinned. She winked and turned back to her door. She didn’t step in though. She just stood there. He would have given a lot to find out what she was thinking at that moment. Then she turned back to him and did a step towards him.

“Thank you. For a wonderful day.”

She leaned in and their lips met in a short kiss. When she pulled back, they were both smiling widely. She gave him a tap on his chest and walked inside, leaving him alone, dreaming. He shook his head and did a step back.

“We should get decontaminating showers more often.” He thought and started to walk home.

That was what had surprised them the most.
End.
