Executive producer Naren Shankar will step down as co-showrunner of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation after eight years with the series, using his last year under contract with CBS Studios to focus on development for the company. Carol Mendelsohn, who has been Shankar’s co-showrunner for the past five seasons, will stay on as executive producer.

WOW, what a shock, I thought he'd stay as long as the show did, He's one of my favorite writers, and I saw him interviewed a long ways back, and he was so pssionate and so up-beat and seemed like he'd stay forever. I do, however wish him all the best, you'll be missed Naren
