OK, am I the only one that is really annoyed that Laurence Fishburne was put first in the titles. I wouldn't have minded a second billing or even a With Credit, but Why didn't they put Marg Helgenberger first. Its like a woman is not good enough to be put first in the Credits (I'm not a woman, but even so).

And why is Paul Guilfoyle still with the And Credit, he should have fourth billing (Behind Langston, Willows and Stokes) or even sixth (behind Langston, Willows, Stokes, Robbins and Sanders).

As to Marg, maybe she didn't want the first billing, or its part of her contract on where she is placed, or it was just plain easier to put LF in the spot vacated. Doesn't bother me any and I am a woman, Marg is a great actress and I don't think she needs to have top billing she has more then proved that. Sure it would be nice if she did get the spot, who knows maybe they will rearrange it later, but for now they probably just went the easiest route.

As to Paul and the ever "with" or the "and starring" you see in alot of shows that is similar to having second Billing. Usually you see Starring [insert name] which is what is called top billing, then the rest of the cast, then second billing if you will would be "With Paul G" and sometimes they (not necessairly CSI but other shows) "with [name] as [character name].

But While Marg deserves it, who is to say that she isn't just agreeable to the way it is now? Or figures in this industry with how things are going I feel lucky to be working, lets go this way and worry about it later. *Shrug* As I said I am a woman and I am not offended by it. Recognition is great if you can get it, but if not go with with what you got. Could be worse, Lauren could be after LF. ;)
 
First and last in the credits are coveted spots. It's usually part of contract negotiations. So PG's spot at the end of the credits is written into his contract, along with his filming schedule, which allows him to fly back to NYC.

As for LF appearing first, I don't think it has anything to do with him being male and Marg being female. LF is a bigger name than Marg so he's going to get top billing. I'm sure that if they'd brought in a big name female actor to replace LF, she would have been given top billing as well. However, if they really wanted to be fair, maybe they could have done a co-billing/split screen type of thing, where both names appear in the first spot.
 
I remember that Marg had the last billing on China Beach. I thought that was cool!
As for these new credits, I wonder if this wasn't Marg's way of saying - "I'm staying where I am in the credits because this isn't 'my' show now, it's an ensemble so we're all equally important and Laurence Fishburne is a 'big' name."
 
Wasn't there a rumor before the season started that David Berman (David "Super Dave" Philllips) was supposed to be in the credits? I was waiting till the sequence was changed for Laurence Fishburne, thinking Berman would be added then. But he wasn't!
Did I miss something?
 
I have been waiting for David Berman in the credit and I haven't see him on it. What about Liz Vassey? Or it that a rumor too about her being in the credit. What about Mandy? She been on since first season. Archie or Bobby, they been on since first season.
 
Berman and Vassey are now being listed as Special Guest Stars, so hopefully the will be added next season. (Greg and Robbins were given Special Guest Stars the season before they were added, as were Hodges and Sofia).

I Still can't believe LF got first billing. Is it true he was replacing Peterson, I thought he was replacing Dourdan or Fox. :(

I really hate the term replacing, because that usually means they are either moving into that person role (be it as the character or big boss, etc) which as we know didn't happen, but any how he [LF] was brought in as another cast member for when Petersen left. Lauren Smith was more then likely brought in for the departed Fox and Dourdan.
 
I really don't have a problem with the credits. William Petersen left, he was lead actor. Laurence Fishburn was hired as the new lead actor to fill the void after WP left (not to replace him since that isn't possible). TPTB made that perfectly clear, it wasn't a secret, so of course his name is going to appear first. This is the way I expected it to be.

Also its not as if Marg has been demoted, she's exactly where she's always been and she is lead actress.

And Paul G still has the convented last position.
