Screen Actors Guild Honours Original 'CSI'

CSI Files

Captain
The cast of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation last night won the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

"This is a bit of a shock," star William Petersen (Gil Grissom) said after the entire CSI cast came up to the stage to accept their award, according to Elyse. "The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers. Though I will have to say, when you share your close-up with carpet fibers you're doing a little bit of ensemble acting."

This was the fourth year in a row that the original CSI cast was nominated by SAG. In 2002, they lost out to the cast of the West Wing, while in both 2003 and 2004 the Six Feet Under actors were victorious. This year, their competition consisted of 24, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos and The West Wing.

Petersen closed his acceptance speech by saying the thing he likes best about acting is that he gets to hang out with his fellow cast members, who have all become his friends. "That's truly our award." To see Petersen together with his fellow cast members and, thus, friends, check out the following news image available on Yahoo:
