Ok so here's my chapter, hope its alright havent really written anything before.

The crime lab was eerily silent as Greg walked through the corridors to the break room all he could hear was the gentle whirring of the refrigerated centrifuge that one of the lab techs had left on. He stopped and looked into the lab and reminisced about the good times he had had in there, but he would never give up being a CSI level one he was having too much of a great time.

“Sure it’s a pay cut,” he said to himself “and the hours are longer but there are so many up sides” he said to himself as he continued to walk along to the break room, “its definitely more fun, I get to meet the people face to face rather than face to DNA and the people I work with are great. I mean Warrick, Cat and Nick are a blast, Grissom’s…well weird and Sara…well she’s incredible” he stopped in a daze thinking of Sara not realising he was standing right in front of the break room being watched by Catherine and Warrick curiously.

“Greggo” called Warrick “You ok?”
“Uh yeah” he said smiling to himself walking into the room
“You keep those fantasies for home time ok Greg” smirked Catherine
“How did you…”
“I’ve been there” she said smiling at Warrick
“So who’s the lucky lady” asked Warrick

At that moment Sara walked in accompanied by Grissom, the sight of them coming in together laughing was like a dagger through his heart, he knew that Sara had a thing for Grissom but he didn’t like to be reminded of it. They all greeted each other and then Sara and Grissom joined the rest at the table. They all got into small talk between themselves for a while. Then,

“Come on Greg who is she?” persisted Warrick
“Who’s who” asked Sara quickly drawing herself away from her conversation with Catherine and looking at Greg.
“Greg’s got a mystery woman” teased Warrick
“She’s no – one, nothings going to happen. Can we drop it please” he replied dodging her looks because he thought that if he looked at her he’d go red and she’d figure it out.
“Well any woman would be crazy to turn you down” she replied supportively, winking at him quickly.

“Oh my God” he thought, his heart starting to beat faster, his mind started racing “I know she said it as a friend but what if she really meant it, I mean it would apply to her too wouldn’t it?” He then realised there had been quite a long pause in the conversation. He was about to fill it with a witty comment when Nick walked in and greeted everyone.

“Good now everyone’s here” said Grissom “There’s been a double rape/ triple homicide on The Strip and as this is the only case tonight everyone’s on it. The bodies have all been found by the roadside about 200 metres apart from each other. Two females and one male. I want Nick and Warrick to take the first body, just outside the Venetian, Sara and Greg I want you to take the second female vic and Catherine and I will take the male.”

Greg smiled inside when he heard he was paired with Sara, he then glanced at her and she smiled back at him. “Wow what a smile” he thought, he loved the slight gap between her two front teeth.

Sara turned to Greg “So do you wanna drive there together in my car?” she asked rolling her eyes.
Greg hesitated for a while not quite deciding whether or not it was a good idea
“I’ll let you play Marilyn Manson” she continued
“Rock on” he replied “God why did I say that?” he thought “Of all the things to say”
“I’ll take that as a yes” she said laughing, walking away to get her kit and then turning round to smile at him once more.
“Ok will meet you there ASAP” he could feel his heart beating now “A whole car ride with Sara to myself…” his mind started racing, but before he could think anymore,
“Hurry up Greg” barked Grissom slightly irritated as they all walked out of the room to the crime scene.

He ran down the corridor to get his kit from his locker, his blond hair getting all messed up in the process. When he got to his locker he opened it up, got out his kit, and then looked at the pictures he had plastered on his locker door. They were from the Christmas party last year; he then looked at the middle one of him and Sara with their hands around each other “This is your chance to make things happen, so don’t screw it up” he said to himself. He then spiked up his hair in the mirror and ran to the car park to meet Sara.

hollie is gonna write the next chapter (please) :)

[That was really good CSIangel! I'm soo excited this finally started!]

In a couple of minutes Greg was standing in the parking lot facing Sara. "Ready?" she asked. "Yeah." he replied nodding. After awhile Greg had given up on asking if he could drive, because it was always the same. Sara always drove. So today he decided he would just hop into the passenger seat. "What you don't wanna drive?" she asked with a smug grin on her face. "But, you never let me drive." Greg asked confused. "I know. I never said you could. I was just asking." she replied with a smile. Was she teasing him? Greg couldn't help but think. Never mind he thought, shaking his head and popping his Marilyn Manson CD into the CD drive.

"Loud enough for you?" Sara asked. "What? I like this song." Greg replied. "You wanted perfect. You got your perfect. But now I'm to perfect for someone like you." Greg attempted to "sing" along with the music. Sara just laughed, which made Greg smile. She was laughing which was good for Greg. Her laughing meant she was in a good mood. She being in a good mood meant that she wouldn't get annoyed easily. Again, this was all good for Greg because today was the day that he was going to do something about his crush. But to Greg it wasn't just a crush. It was more like he was struck with a bolt of lightning everytime she entered the room. The rush that was sent through his body everytime she uttered a word was indescribable. She had stolen his heart and today he would make her feel the same way he had felt about her for all these years.

"We're here"
Greg was torn from his thoughts as he heard Sara's voice. "Oh, coming." he replied. "Something on your mind?" she asked as they neared the crime scene. "Not really." he stated. "I know. It's the mystery woman again, isn't it?" Sara said with a huge smile on her face. Greg sighed, "Just leave it. Okay?" "Sorry." Sara said quietly. Greg kicked himself inwardly after relizing he harsh he had been. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that." Greg said sincerly, "But seriously, it's nothing." Sara just nodded. "Great" Greg thought to himself.

"The body's in the warehouse to your left. Juliet Tai," Brass said nodding to a woman talking to a cop on his right, "found the body. She claims that she knew they were going to tear down this warhouse tomorrow, so she wanted to see if she could find anything worth saving." The pair nodded at Brass' report. "I'll check out the body, you get what you can from the witness" Sara said facing Greg. Greg nodded and went to head over to the witness, but stopped to ask Sara a question. "You're not mad at me, are you?" Sara barely stopped and didn't even turn around at Greg's comment. "It's fine Greg." she said before hurrying over to the body. Greg sighed again and let out a small groan.

Greg approached a petite woman, maybe 5' 3", with auburn hair cut right about her shoulders. She had innocent blue eyes, and seemed like a very cool down-to-earth person. Not someone you would expect of commiting a murder. But Greg knew that first impressions mean nothing. She was their only suspect so far.
"Hi I'm Greg Sanders from the Las Vegas crime lab. Can I ask you a few questions?" he said approaching the woman.
"Sure." she responded fraily.
"When did you find the body?"
"About an hour ago, I think. Like I told the cops, I was only hear because I knew they were tearing the warehouse down. I just wanted to see if there was anything worth saving. I mean, whatever if there was an animal living in there or something?" she started to trail off. "Sorry I talk a lot when i'm nervous."
"Why are you nervous?" Greg asked.
"I watch crime shows. The person to find the body is usually the first suspect."
"You shouldn't be nervous, unless you killed the person."
"But I didn't! I swear. I could never even hurt an ant, let alone a human being."
"Don't worry. As soon as we find evidence of another person in the warehouse, we'll have another suspect."
Juliet quietly nodded.
"Did you she anything suspicous? Out of the ordinary?"
"No. I wasn't in there for long. As soon as I found the body I ran out and call the cops."
"Okay, thanks for your help." Greg sighed.
He wasn't getting anywhere. Greg decided he would help Sara out with getting evidence off the body. He thought he heard her calling him anyway.

[Hmm... lets see. Silhouette? Wanna continue?]

Re: Sandle - Add A Chapter

[Here you go, as promised. :) Sorry it takes a while. It turned out longer than I expected though... Bear in mind this is the first, longest piece of writing I've ever posted, and English isn't my first language, so it wouldn't be without flaws ;) On to the story...]

CHAPTER 3

Greg stepped into the warehouse, approaching Sara who was kneeling beside the body, snapping some pictures. Yellow evidence tags laid all over the place between him and her. He had to be careful not to step on anything. The place must have abandoned long, he thought when seeing the thick dust covering the floor.

“What you got?” He asked her, standing on the other side of the body. A pretty young woman, with red hair the length of her shoulder. A bullet wound in the middle of her forehead. Blood pool around her like a frame.

Sara looked up at him, “I found one set of footprints, and two sets of shoeprints.”
Greg glanced at the vic’s feet, “Well, she’s barefooted... The first set could be hers." He looked around, "Where are her shoes?”

“Have you ever tried running in high heels?” Sara asked without looking at him, snapping more photos.
Greg looked at her, raising an eyebrow, “Is that a trick question?” Do I look like someone who's into cross-dressing? Ouch.

Sara suppressed a smile, “Uh, she was running for her life. Heels are pretty much inefficient, so she tossed it there…” She gestured to the spot a few meters away between them and the front door. Two silver high heels lay a foot away from each other.
Greg nodded, “The second set?”

Sara got up and walked a few feet away, pointed to the mark on the concrete, “These ones are a bit smaller than our vic’s… you could see the heels, safe to say it’s from a woman.”

Greg walked slowly to her, “Well I can tell you that our only suspect, Juliet Tai, wears heels...”
Sara looked at him and Greg just shrugged, “But she claimed that as soon as she found the body, she ran out to call the cops.”
Sara frowned a little, “Well these came from the front door and stopped a few feet away from the body –right there— before going back towards the front door again. This could support her story.”
“So she didn’t do this?” Greg asked.
“It’s too early to say anything, but… “ She looked at him, her expression changed, “Greg, this woman was raped... before murdered.”
Now you ask yourself, how many rapists are female?

Greg sighed, “You said there’s another set of shoeprints?”
Sara nodded and pointed to the last sets of prints, “These ones are size 9. And it’s the only one that exited towards the back door.”
“There was someone else here?”
Sara looked at him. “Someone... who stepped into the blood pool and didn't call 911.”
He nodded. “The second suspect... who doesn’t wear high heels.”

--------------

They finished working the scene and they were back inside Sara’s car. Manson blaring through the speakers. They had talked for a while, but the conversation died away. Leaving them with silence that was now only filled by the loud music, like an invisible wall between them.

Greg didn’t even sing this time.

You can’t be like this forever.
He sighed. Gazing out of the window, the view passed him by like thoughts coming in and out of his mind. He remembered what he had promised himself to do. It’s your chance to make things happen.

He shifted in his seat, glancing at Sara. Her eyes, covered by sunglasses, fixed on the road. The sun cast a soft glow on her skin. She’s so beautiful… It hurts, does it? Having so much to say, yet you have it all locked up. His mind teased him again.
He tore his eyes away from her. What are you scared of, Greg? His heart responded by beating faster. I don’t know what I’m afraid of… It’s just… He took a deep breath. What's the worst that could happen? Say it. Don’t think. Just do it.

“Umm, Sara…” She didn’t hear him. Greg turned the volume of the music down. She realized it and looked at him. Greg shifted again, “I was wondering if… uh, if… youwanttogooutwithme?”

She glanced back at the road for a second, but it felt like forever. Finally she looked at him again, frowning. “Uh, sorry, what did you say, Greg? I didn't hear you.” She reached out to turn off the music completely.

Great. She didn’t caught what I said. “There’s a nice restaurant just opened near where I live. I was… wondering, uh, if…” It was even harder to say under her gaze. He swallowed. “Would you like to go… with me? Later this shift?” he held his breath.

Sara broke a smile, a nice smile, “Sure.”
Greg sighed a relief, smiling. "Really?"
See, you could do it. The voice in his mind said again.

For the rest of the way back to the lab, he couldn’t sit still. He was so excited and the silence that was once sat between them, now gone. It was filled again with the infamous Greg’s rock-wannabe voice. "You wanted perfect. You got your perfect. But now I'm to perfect for someone like you.”

Yep, Greg being normal again.

---------------

When they got into the lab, they needed to work on the evidence first, but had agreed to meet in the break room as soon as they were done. Greg got the blood samples to DNA, and Sara worked the bullet casings.

He finished and went to look for her in the break room, but it was empty. He thought maybe she hasn’t done yet. Catherine was coming down his way, he stopped her, “Hey Catherine.”

Catherine looked up from the paper she was reading and smiled. “Hey Greg… You’re taking a break?”
Greg smiled, failed to cover his excitement. “Just about to…”
Catherine looked at him and smirked, “You have a date, Greg? With the mystery woman?”
“What? No.”
Catherine teased him again, “You can’t lie to me, Greggo. I know… Your face is beaming like a glow stick.” She tapped his arm and left, “Good luck!”

Greg tried not to keep smiling like an idiot, continued his way down the well-lit hallway. He caught a glimpse of Sara in the evidence room along with Nick and Warrick. Through the glass door he could see evidence files and photos were all over the table. He entered the room, “Sara, I was looking for you.”

She turned at him, smiling brightly, “Greg! You won’t believe what I’ve just found.” Excitement was evident in her tone. Good news? On the case? He was thrilled… but somewhere in the back of his mind, he was worried too.
It reminded him of a few years ago when he tried to ask her out to dinner, the same thing happened. Hot case… She had to cancel and he was so disappointed. Could that be happening again?

“I was talking to Nick, and guess what? The bullet from our vic, is consistent with the bullet found from Nick and Warrick’s case.” She was so alive when a case got her excited like that…

Warrick added, “Of course, we need to do more tests to confirm that…”
“BUT… here, check out the pictures from the crime scene…” She grabbed a photograph and lay it in front of Greg. A picture of a woman, around the same age as Juliet, their vic. Her clothes were torn apart. A bullet wound on her forehead, also similar to their vic.

Sara’s words escaped him. Everything muted. It can’t be… He picked up the photograph and looked closer. A sense of familiarity hit him hard, sharp through his chest.

He only caught Nick’s words when it slap him back into reality, “… her name is Sidney Miller and she—“ His blood ran cold. Sidney? Frames of memory flooded his mind and his grip loosened. The photograph fell out of his hand. A sickening feeling gripped his stomach.

Sara touched his arm gently, “Greg? You okay?”

He turned and ran out of the room.

-------------------

It was one of those moments when you wish everything was a dream. A terrible nightmare you soon would wake up from and forget. But of course in your heart you know it wasn’t. And you don’t even need to pinch yourself cause you knew. The pain was real.

It came through series of flashbacks. Once neatly folded in the back of his mind, now came rushing at him all at once.

He remembered her smile. How the wind blew her wavy long hair out of her soft features. A vivid memory of them sitting on a bench in the park one afternoon, watching the sun set.
“Dad wants me to be a doctor.” He had said.
She was staring at some leaves falling from the trees, “What do you want?” The kind of voice that always calms him.
They were both in high school and for years, Sidney had been the person to talk to every time he had a problem.
“I don’t know, Syd… I was thinking about forensics… maybe DNA…”
She looked at him and smiled, “Forensics? I think that’s really cool, Greg.”
Greg smiled, “You think?”
She nodded, “Yeah… and you know what, Greg? It’s your life. I believe in you.”

Greg stopped in front of the empty locker room, panting. It must be a mistake… You were supposed to visit me, Syd, and tomorrow you said you wanted to go to that concert.

He recalled he was just talked to her on the phone last week. She was visiting Vegas and she always had the same taste in music as Greg. He remembered when they were younger, they used to go to concerts together. She was a great drummer, a multi-talented girl. It was her who taught him to surf.

Greg slouched on the bench in the locker room. Buried his face in his hands.
Suddenly a hand touched his shoulder. He jumped in shock, looking up to see Sara standing there. “Are you okay?” Her voice soft but filled with concern. “What happened back there?” She sat beside him.

Greg stroke his forehead, “The victim… I…” His voice was trembling. It felt like there was a lump in his throat.

“Do you know her?” Sara asked softly.

He felt a flood of emotions poured into him. Do I know her? I don’t only ‘know’ her. She was my best friend.

Greg remembered when they were kids. They used to play on the beach and make sand castles together. They would argue on whose castle was bigger and better. That memory faded now, as a layer of tear blurred his sight.

“Sidney is… my cousin. We’re close since we were kids… I can’t believe she’s gone. I mean, not like that... She’s a really nice person. I can't believe...” His voice trailed off.

Boys don’t cry. Or do they? Greg couldn’t care less. At first it was sadness and loss. Then it morphed slowly into anger. How could someone do something like that to her?

The report played in his mind. She was brutally raped… then murdered. He could imagine her being so scared, begging for her life. He just shot her and left her to die in the pool of her own blood.

Greg got up and punched the locker. Cursing under his breath. The sound echoed in the little room. Sara stared in shock, she never saw him that angry before.

He doesn’t stop after he raped her. He doesn’t care.
He was about to throw another punch but Sara grabbed his shoulder and swing him around to face her, “Stop it, Greg!” his back hit the locker behind him. She was practically yelling, trying to get some sense into his head.

Their faces were a few inches from each other. Both panting. Sara stared right into his eyes, tried to read him. She saw pain, sadness, anger, everything mixed together. Something stung her heart.

She realized what she had just done and let go off her grip, “I’m sorry...” She stepped back, “Go home, Greg... You can’t work like this, you know that. Go home. Get some rest.”

It pained her to see him like this. She wanted to stay and comfort him but time was running out and the best way to help him is to find the killer.

“I promise. I’ll find whoever did this to her, okay?” She put her hand on the side of his face and stroke his cheek, as if reassuring him. With that she left him and walked towards the door.

It had started as a great day. Now his world came stumbling down around him.

Greg slumped to the floor. Felt more alone than ever.
