Romances Heat Up 'Miami's' Second Season

CSI Files

Captain
At this year's Television Critics Association press tour, the CSI: Miami producers revealed that Calleigh Duquesne would have an "office romance" this season (story), but the object of the bullet expert's affections remained unknown. Until now.

Sources today told CSI Files that Calleigh will grow closer to Detective John Hagen, one of CSI: Miami's regular detectives, who first appeared in "Simple Man" towards the end of last season. In the season finale, "Body Count", the pair clashed as Calleigh became obsessed with putting escape criminal Hank Kerner back behind bars.

John Hagen will reportedly be a comfort to Calleigh when her alcholic father, Kenwall 'Duke' Duquesne, makes a return in "The Best Defense". When Duke starts drinking again, Hagen picks him up at a bar and drives him back to Calleigh's house. "You didn't need to do this," she says, devastated at the discovery that her father has gone back to his old ways.

In the next episode, "Hurricane Anthony", Hagen is once again beside Calleigh's side when Miami is struck by a hurricane. As the pair trudge through the streets searching for a missing man, Calleigh is overwhelmed by the destruction and looting. She turns to Hagen, trying to say something, but she can't get it out. "I know," he says, and gently touches her face.

Calleigh and Hagen won't be the only couple to be drawn closer in the aftermath of the hurricane, as Detective Yelina Salas and Horatio Caine also try to come to terms with their feelings. Yelina thanks Horatio for "being there" for her son during his first hurricane, but then adds, "And for being there for me". This leads to a moment of sexual tension, which is eventually broken by Horatio. "I always will be," he says, and walks off.

Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer films, and until such time would should treat this information as you would any other rumour.

CSI: Miami's second season debuts on Monday, September 22.
