The franchise offers two winning new episodes, but basketball on Thursday can't compete.<p><I>CSI: Miami</I> came out on top Monday with 13.46 million overall viewers and a 4.0 rating/11 share in the 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers. The third week of new ABC drama <I>Castle</I> was second with 9.81 million viewers and 2.7/7, and <I>Medium</I> rounded out the hour with 6.56 million viewers and 2.2/6.<p>On Wednesday, <I>CSI: New York</I> beat the combination by pulling in 12.60 million overall viewers and 3.0/8 in the key demo. Next was <I>Law and Order</I> with 7.25 million viewers and 2.2/6, and <I>Life on Mars</I> came in third with 5.67 million and 2.1/6.<p>Day one of the <I>2009 NCAA Basketball: Regional Semi-Finals</I> preempted <I>CSI: Crime Scene Investigation</I> on Thursday. The sports event pulled in 10.12 million viewers during primetime and earned a 3.5/9 in the 18-49 demo.
