Petersen Goes 'Clandestine' For TNT

CSI Files

Captain
<font color=yellow>William Petersen</font>'s (Gil Grissom) next television role will be a change of pace from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, as the actor takes on the challenge of playing a cop who loses his badge.

Petersen has signed up to star in Clandestine for the TNT cable network, the Futon Critic reported. The telepic, which is set in Los Angeles in the 1950s, is based on the 1982 novel by LA Confidential author <font color=yellow>James Ellroy</font>.

Clandestine, described as a noir-ish detective piece, centres around an LA police officer, Fred Underhill, whose quest to track down a serial murderer results in him being booted from the force. Even though his life begins to crumble around him, Underhill single-mindedly continues to pursue his suspect.

<font color=yellow>Paul Schrader</font>, the Golden Globe-nominated writer of Raging Bull and Taxi Driver, has been tapped to adapt Clandestine for the screen. His other credits include Affliction, The Mosquito Coast and The Last Temptation of Christ. Petersen will executive produce the film with his producing partner, <font color=yellow>Cindy Chvatal</font>.

Petersen is the second CSI actor to join the cast of a TNT movie in as many months. <font color=yellow>George Eads</font> (Nick Stokes) has signed up to play daredevil <font color=yellow>Evel Knievel</font> in a telepic of the same name (story).

Does anyone know when this starts shooting?. :)
Since he has something lined up after CSI I wonder if he will try to opt out early?. Thoughts?

G- It's a beautiful game.
S- Since when are you interested in beauty?
G- Since I met you.

Hasn't Petersen repeatedly said he was tired of being the cop or the cop chasing the killer? I wonder what about this changed his mind.
