Paul Millander Is Headed To Los Angeles

CSI Files

Captain
Actor Matt O'Toole, otherwise known as serial killer Paul Millander on CSI, has a new, and possibly similar role on Fox's new drama show The Inside.

O'Toole will portray a character known as Pony Man on Fox's new procedural drama, which is already being dubbed as a mix between CSI, Silence of the Lambs, and the movie Seven by many critics. The actor portrayed Paul Millander on CSI, a serial killer who torments Grissom and his gang until his eventual suicide in the episode "Identity Crisis." O'Toole is already set to guest star in three The Inside episodes, starting with tonight's pilot, "New Girl In Town."

The Inside revolves around the life of Rebecca Locke, an FBI agent fresh out of the academy in Quantico who is willing to trade her desk job in order to chase down serial killers. When an FBI agent is murdered in the Los Angeles Violent Crimes Unit, Virgil "Web" Webster, head of the department, hires the young agent. But Rebecca Locke brings to Los Angeles an important secret about her past: she was once a victim of a violent crime, and her kidnapper is still on the loose. The Inside stars Rachel Nichols, Peter Coyote, and Adam Baldwin.

Critics are wondering if The Inside's similarities to CSI may do more harm than good to the show's ratings. But Tim Minear, co-creator, producer, writer and director for the show, promises the mix between dark humor and drama, and the show's focus on the characters' lives, will entice viewers. "This is a show about damaged people – the only interesting kind there is – and about how their damage sometimes makes them especially suited to the work they do. Our heroes are the FBI agents who investigate serial crimes, and each episode contains interesting surprises as the theory of the case evolves."
