This week, Paramount unveiled the cover art of CSI: New York's first DVD set, which will be available for purchase this fall.

The cover art features Mac Taylor and Stella Bonasera with the New York skyline serving as background. The blue hue, which has become the show's signature, is predominantly appreciated through the image and fonts. This is only the second cover art in the CSI franchise not to feature the complete cast; CSI's season three only shows the characters Gil Grissom and Catherine Willows on the cover.

New York's first season will be compressed into six disks and will include the crossover episode "MIA/NYC - NonStop." CSI box sets normally include seven disks to accommodate a few extras, Season one was originally scheduled to be released in September, but was recently pushed back to October 25th.

Paramount has also released the second part of the CSI season four DVD on Region 2 encoding. The three disks include the episodes 13, "Suckers," through the season finale, "Bloodlines." The set also features a special behind-the-scenes look at CSI: New York, as well as a preview of the show's first episode, "Blink."

The DVD set came out to mixed reviews. Though Monsters and Critics' Andy McKeague didn't have much to say about the box set itself, the critic wasn't very impressed with the series. However, the website Hertz 24 gave the DVD 4 stars, while Female First provided an episode-by-episode summary and praised the concept of the show. "No other drama show in recent history has had such a major influence on popular culture."

The first details of the NY season one box sex can be found at TV Shows on DVD, while the second part of CSI's season for can be purchased through Amazon.co.uk.

That's pretty snazzy actually. Nice colours. I wish they'd put the whole cast on there though... the credited cast, I mean.

Still, it's a nice cover.

It is wierd that they don't put the whole cast on there but I love the backround of it.

Wibble, are you following me around with that watchful avatar of yours? ;)

I really do think it's the nicest of all the covers so far. But maybe because I'm a big fan of blue! :D

I also think it's the nicest cover so far. It makes me wanna buy it. The blue with the sunset in the background makes it look like an awesome photograph.

Of course, the eye candy also helps.

They've come a long way since the first season of CSI: LV on DVD. That was one ugly box set. This is really nice though. They need to get Carmine on there next time. ^^
