CSI Files
Captain
A bit later than usual, CBS has released an official press release describing tonight's new CSI: New York episode - "Tanglewood."
In "Tanglewood," a savage beating brings Mac and Stella face to face with the new generation of the mob. Here's CBS's full plot description:

When a man is beaten to death with a baseball bat in a park, Mac and Stella are introduced to a group of young gang members called the Tanglewood Boys -- young men who kill for sport and not business. Mac and Stella's case complicates when a convenience store clerk is shot dead and the murder is also gang related. Meanwhile, Danny and Aiden investigate a hit and run accident that leads them to an illegal massage parlor.

Tonight's episode may be especially interesting for fans of Carmine Giovinazzo, as the episode will begin to develop the backstory of his character Danny Messer by revealing a connection between Danny and the Tanglewood gang. And according to a message on Giovinazzo's official web site, we "may even see a 'Tanglewood' sequel later in the season as Danny's interesting character begins to unfold.."
"Tanglewood" was directed by Karen Gaviola, who this year also helmed the 90-minute CSI: Miami episode "Crime Wave." This is her first CSI: New York episode. The episode was written by CSI: New York creator Anthony E. Zuiker.

Sonya Walger will be making her fourth appearance as Jane Parsons, first seen in "Three Generations Are Not Enough," while this episode will mark the third appearance of Denice J. Sealy, who played an unnamed lab tech in both "Outside Man" and "Officer Blue." If this is the same character, she has now gained the name Raquel Trinidad.
Four of these actors have previously appeared in an episode of the original CSI series: Stacy Edwards, who played Vickie Winston in "Feeling the Heat," Fredric Lane, who appeared as Curt Ritten on "Burked, " Cyia Batten, who was Kelly Goodson in "A Night At The Movies," and Anjul Nigam - Rajeeb Khandewahl in "Blood Lust."
"Tanglewood" will air tonight at 10:00pm on CBS.
Tomorrow at 9:00pm, CBS won't be airing a new episode of the original CSI, but will instead be repeating "What's Eating Gilbert Grissom?" In this episode, Grissom is haunted by the return of the blue paint serial killer that got away two years ago. As the CSI team investigates the multiple murders on the WLVU college campus, they realize that the murders took place on the two-year anniversary of the execution of John Mathers, a man found guilty of murdering a woman in the same manner as these new victims at this college campus. The main clue tying four murders together is the blue paint found on all the victims' hands. The killer fooled the CSI team two years ago, when another murder took place the night of John Mathers' execution, and Grissom and team are determined to not let that happen again.
And then on Friday at 9:00pm, CBS will be airing a special repeat of the original CSI, still in the timeslot of the failed Dr. Vegas series. The episode shown will last season's "Turn of the Screws," in which the CSI team investigates when a roller coaster leaves its tracks killing six individuals. They must determine if it was an accident or murder.
