Captain
Two out of three members of the CSI franchise are airing new episodes this week.

First, on Monday at 10:00pm EST, CSI: Miami finds the team looking into the death of a famous man in "Deep Freeze":

Sam Hill has directed nine episodes of Miami including the season six premiere, "Dangerous Son". Elizabeth Devine has written for all three CSI shows, and her latest episode of Miami was "A Grizzly Murder".

"Deep Freeze" features the following actors and actresses in guest roles:

Claire Coffee was in the CSI episode "Rashomama. Paul Schulze appeared in the CSI: NY episode "Corporate Warriors".

On Wednesday at 10:00pm EST, CSI: New York airs the highly-promoted Second Life tie-in, "Down the Rabbit Hole":

A woman's murder sends Mac into "Second Life," the internet-based virtual world to track down the killer in both the real and cyber world.

Christine Moore has directed two previous episodes of New York, the latest being season three's "What Schemes May Come". Executive producer Peter Lenkov has written nine episodes of CSI: NY including last season's finale, "Snow Day". The other writer for "Down the Rabbit Hole" is Sam Humphrey. Humphrey has written for New York three times, and his latest episode was the third episode of the current season, "You Only Die Once".

"Down the Rabbit Hole" stars the following guest actors:

AJ Buckley, who plays lab tech Adam Ross, has moved from the recurring cast list to the series regulars. Remaining in the recurring character list is Robert Joy, who returns to play Dr Sid Hammerback for the forty-seventh time. Unlike this week's episode of Miami, none of the guest actors or actresses from "Down the Rabbit Hole" have appeared in the CSI franchise before.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be airing its first repeat on Thursday at 9:00pm EST: "Ending Happy", an episode from season seven. During "Ending Happy", the team must investigate the mysterious death of a former boxer. The man received several injuries in one night, and the team has to figure out which of the attacks ended his life.

"Deep Freeze" and "Down the Rabbit Hole" begin airing October 22 on CBS.

Now that is a rare occurrence. I love playing 'guess the previous episode' when watching the guest stars...

Is there any particular reason why LV isn't airing a new episode? :(

Hmm, well they often show repeats so I'm not sure if there is a reason. I do know that there is a crossover episode with Without a Trace coming up, and obviously they will air straight after each other so they need to be up to the same point in the season when that happens. I'm not sure if Without a Trace aired last week at all, but something else did air in it's timeslot so they may have missed a week, hence LV might need to do the same. :)
