This evening the HFPA announced the cancellation of the champagne dinner and the telecast for the 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards. The winners will be announced in the press conference held on January 13 at Beverly Hilton.

Click me to read the news release.

According to the news I watched on TV, this is most likely caused by SAG's support to WGA. Most stars turned down the invitation to attend the ceremony. It is possible that the same thing will happen to the Oscars as well.

I just read news that they won't cancel Oscars - I mean, it will be held in normal way.

Ah well, at least they save money :p
