<ul><li> As the celebrity ambassador for McDonald's All American Achievers program, <I>CSI: New York</I>'s <font color=yellow>Hill Harper</font> (Dr Sheldon Hawkes) helped to grade essays submitted by seventh and eighth graders to choose two winners. Harper gave copies of his books, <I>Letters to a Young Brother</I> and <I>Letters to a Young Sister</I>, to all of the seventh and eighth graders at both winning schools. "I was amazed at the essays I read; these students are bright and focused about their future," Harper said in a press release. "As we head into a new era of change, this program definitely showcased the next generation of great leaders." The goal of the two-day meeting was to improve the health and education of women and girls in parts of Africa that are heavily affected by AIDS. <font color=yellow>Megalyn Echikunwoke</font> (<I>CSI: Miami</I>'s Dr Tara Price), whose father is Nigerian, told <A class="link" HREF="http://www.reuters.com/article/peopleNews/idUSTRE53J6S420090420">Reuters</a>, "As an African woman, this is really exciting and unprecedented. For me this is really about finding out how we can support the first ladies."<p><li> Harper will deliver the keynote speech at the Thirty Fourth Annual Scholarship and Awards Luncheon hosted by the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Foundation on May 2 in Bel Air, California.
