I've been very fortunate."

[*]CSI: New York's new competitor, Invasion, premieres this week at 10pm on ABC. The show has received favorable reviews by various critics, and some predict it might become as big as the X-Files. Invasion revolves around the government and public's reaction to an imminent alien invasion, and though the pilot opens with a massive hurricane, which some might consider a bad omen in light of Katrina, the critics agree it’s worth a look. The New York Daily News wrote this might appeal to fans who are interested in the paranormal.
[*]Real-life crime scene investigator Jim Vail recently talked to CBS 2 in Chicago about what real CSIs do and don't do. "All we do is collect the evidence," Vail said. "It's made offenders a little bit smarter. I had a gas station burglary where the security camera shows this guy scooting in on his belly so he didn't leave footprints. Of course, he was identified from the video."
