<ul>[*]On her first day on the CSI: Miami set, new series star <font color=yellow>Eva La Rue</font> (Natalia Boa Vista) passed a message to the webmasters of her official web site, saying that everyone on the set was "so wonderful and helpful," and that she was looking forward to her first scene with <font color=yellow>David Caruso</font> (Horatio Caine) a day later. Meanwhile, a week before the official announcement, the actress herself posted a message on her site, saying that she couldn't reveal for which show she had been hired, but saying it was a "HUGE break" and she was "SOOOOO EXITED!!!!"

[*]A Vancouver Sun article on video game developers who insert their own likeness in their computer games reveals that one of the characters in the CSI: Miami computer game, a burly Cuban-born bouncer and nightclub owner named Enrique, is actually based on mild-mannered IT technician <font color=yellow>Eric Legaspi</font>. He ended up in the game after being the highest bidder in an auction for the Radical Foundation, an in-house organization at the game's developer that raises money for charities.

[*]The farewell message posted by <font color=yellow>Sofia Milos</font> (Yelina Salas) on her official web site has changed. Whereas previously, the site featured a statement confirming her departure and saying that a possible future return to the show depended on "how much she is needed by Horatio Cane and her fans," this has now been replaced with a note stating that many fans "have wondered whether Det. Yelina Salas was coming back for season four of CSI: Miami or whether she was staying in Brazil with her husband Ray. Not all the facts about her role on CSI have been properly reported yet. Please be patient, details forthcoming as they are being decided." The change may be connected to Miami showrunner <font color=yellow>Ann Donahue</font> recently stating that Yelina Salas might return several years in the future, along with a grown-up Ray Jr (story).

[*]According to Arizona radio station KJZZ, Maricopa County attorney <font color=yellow>Andrew Thomas</font> wants the major television networks to place disclaimers on-screen prior to programs such as CSI and Law and Order, to prevent juries from being influenced by these kinds of shows and acquitting more defendants.

[*]Where do you go if you need several tons of white sand in a hurry? When the producers of CSI: Miami needed that for a late second-season episode, they turned to Marine Depot in Anaheim, now profiled by the OC Register.

[*]Back in April, CSI: Miami star <font color=yellow>David Caruso</font> (Horatio Caine) commented on the death of Pope John Paul II, according to an Entertainment Tonight article dug out by DavidCarusoFans.com. "His commitment to the papacy was unbelievable," Caruso said.

[*]Dutch magazine Glossy features a six-page article on the Santa Monica home of <font color=yellow>Marg Helgenberger</font> (Catherine Willows) and her husband <font color=yellow>Alan Rosenberg</font>.
