CBS has moved CSI: Miami into contention with The Contender, NBC's reality series scheduled to debut on March 7th.

Daily Variety reports that CBS has decided to rearrange its sweeps month schedule, saving new episodes of CSI: Miami and hit series Two and a Half Men to air against the long-delayed Contender, produced by Mark Burnett and Jeffrey Katzenberg and troubled by a contestant's suicide. The NBC series will run at 9:30 p.m., straddling two hourly time slots.

Because of the move, CBS will take the unusual step of airing reruns on February 28th, the final Monday of sweeps. Usually networks air new material while sweeps ratings are being calculated and save repeats for the beginning of March. ABC is planning to compete with The Contender as well, airing a two-hour edition of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition onMarch 13th when the NBC show moves to 8 p.m. Sunday, which will then be its regular slot.

The CSI: Miami episode scheduled to air the night of March 7th, "Money Plane", focuses on the crash of a jet plane carrying a billion dollars in checks. One of the victims found at the scene was killed before the plane crashed, but the victim's family opposes an autopsy.
