Heather (hhunter), I wrote this based on one of your suggestions. What happened between the almost kiss in Lady Heather's Box and the morning after. It's short, terribly so, but I do hope it's still worth the read.

“You can always say stop.”
“So can you.”
Their words broke the silence between them, and they both had to grin. It wasn’t an uncomfortable silence, just a silence that said they knew they could possibly have something special. Just maybe; something worth fighting for.
Gil’s arms encircled the woman’s tiny waist, his fingers latching together as they met again. She smiled at him, her eyes flashing something that he wasn’t quite able to identify. Lust, perhaps? Whatever the look was it suited her and he gently pressed his lips to hers.
She felt his soft lips collide with hers, feeling the emotions being passed from one to the other. He took the first steps to deepen the kiss though they were mutual. The kiss was gentle at first, but their passions grew and the kiss increased with it.
“Gil, wait,” Heather broke away. She was panting just slightly, as was Gil. But that was to be expected from the impassioned nature of their kiss.
Gil raised one brow as he waited, knowing she had something to say. He could tell she had something she wanted him to hear; she had that look in her eyes, the look he knew meant she was thinking. He had first seen that look the first time they had met during the previous year. Gil was very well acquainted with lately.
“I just don’t feel I’m ready for this. We’ve only met twice,” Heather explained quietly. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings, she honestly didn’t. It just didn’t feel right, advancing with Gil; they hadn’t known each other all that long, and she didn’t feel comfortable sharing her bed with him yet.
His answer surprised her. “That’s fine, Heather.” Gil smiled down at the brunette, making eye contact with her. “The only thing… I took the night off so I could spend it with you.”
“I could make tea,” Heather replied instantly. “We could sit out on the balcony and… and talk.”
Heather kissed briefly, just once more. They parted and smiled at one another, happy with their decision to talk.
“You can wake outside for me if you’d like.” Heather couldn’t help but smile at the blue eyed man. “It’s just through those doors,” She pointed to the doors just inside her office.
Gil grinned back. He watched Heather walk off to prepare their beverages, knowing that it wasn’t the end of the moment they had been experiencing just moments before.
