CSI: Miami delivered a powerful demonstration of its hit status yesterday when a repeat episode beat original programming on NBC and ABC.
According to overnight ratings data provided by The Futon Critic, yesterday's rerun of "Entrance Wound" scored an 8.8 rating combined with a 13 share. This means that approximately 8.8% of all households in America were tuned in to CSI: Miami last night, while of those people actually watching TV, 13% had chosen the show.
The show had to contend with original programming on the two other networks broadcasting in the 10pm hour. NBC aired the 52nd Annual Miss USA Pageant, the first time in years the event wasn't shown on CBS. But the network can't have shed too many tears over that, as only 7.8% of the American public tuned in to see Miss Massachusetts win a ticket to the Miss Universe contest. A two-hour presentation of The Practice on ABC fared better, but its 8.4/13 rating also wasn't enough to beat "Entrance Wound."
For the entire night, CBS managed to just come out on top, taking in an average rating of 8.6/12. NBC followed with an 8.3/12, and ABC with a 7.8/11. The most-watched program for the night was a repeat of the CSI: Miami lead-in, Everybody Loves Raymond. Fox's Fear Factor followed, leaving CSI: Miami as the third most watched show of the night.
