McGill Joins 'CSI' As Executive Producer

CSI Files previously reported that Naren Shankar was leaving CSI: Crime Scene Investigation to focus on development for CBS. Numb3rs executive producer Don McGill will take Shankar’s place on CSI, serving as second-in-command to showrunner Carol Mendelsohn. The job with CSI is part of a two-year, seven-figure deal McGill signed with CBS TV Studios.

Great! This means new/fresh ideas for the show. And of course, CSI will be around for at least two more years (and even more)! Despite the fact its hitting lows in the ratings recently, CSI is the most safe show on CBS. :)
