CSI returns with an in-depth glance at a character's life.
Next week's special double issue of TV Guide will feature actors from various returning shows on its cover, including CSI: Miami's David Caruso. You can check out a picture of the cover here. Inside the magazine, TV Guide readers can find out what's coming up on their favorite shows.
When CSI: Crime Scene Investigation returns, Gil Grissom (William Petersen) will be feeling a bit ill. Stuck at home, Grissom gets a visit from Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger). "Basically she's there to snoop under the ruse of filling him in on a case," executive producer Naren Shankar told TV Guide. "She wants to know where he is with his relationship with Sara [Sidle (Jorja Fox)]. She wanders into the kitchen and hits pay dirt."
This scenario, from the episode airing April 3, "Grissom's Divine Comedy", will give fans a look at Grissom's apartment. A team of more than 30 people spent nearly three weeks putting the apartment together, and the aim was to have the space reflect Grissom's individuality. Bugs are used for decoration, books line shelves, a mask from Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke) hangs on the wall, and there is even a picture of Sara to be found. "It definitely adds dimension [to his personality]", production designer Dan Novotny said. "This is the most we've seen in eight years!"
The peek inside Grissom's apartment isn't the only thing coming up on CSI. Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) ended up on the wrong side of the mob earlier in the season, and he's not done with those problems just yet. "Brass [Paul Guilfoyle] will be correct in his belief that [mob boss] Lou Gedda [John Capodice] has eyes and ears inside the police department, and he knows everything that Warrick does," explained executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. Also, Grissom meets someone from his past, played by Bonnie Bedelia, and he questions whether he can continue to do his job. To lighten the mood, the writers of Two and a Half Men are switching places with the CSI writers for an episode.
Check out the upcoming issue of TV Guide for information on CSI and other returning shows.
