I think either box or envelope will be fine, just make sure that it's evidence

What exactly do you mean with evidence envelope, the file with the photo's and crime scene details etc or the (small) ones where they put hairs/fibers and such in? Or both?

Yep! either brown envelope or plastic bag will be fine, but not case file
