CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actress Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) will stage a special charity weekend in Iowa next month to raise money to fight breast cancer.
Helgenberger and her husband, Alan Rosenberg (The Guardian), are set to host 2003's "Marg & Alan's Celebrity Weekend" in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from September 5-7, the Daily Nonpareil reported.
"Each September, Alan and I look forward to reconnecting to my Midwest roots to draw attention to the fight against breast cancer, and celebrate survivorship," Helgenberger said. "It's a fight that is being won every day. My mom has been a survivor for 21 years."
The event will kick off with Helgenberger and Rosenberg's performance of the play Love Letters at 9:00 p.m. on September 5. A two-day celebrity golf-tournment will take place over the next two days, with a special Survivor Celebration on the evening of September 6. This will include an auction of celebrity memorabilia.
All monies raised will go to the Jennie Edmundson Hospital Cancer Centre in Council Bluffs. The "only accredited cancer center in southwest Iowa", the centre's equipment includes a "stereotactic breast-imaging monitor and linear accelerator for radiation treatment of cancer".
For further information, head over to the Daily Nonpareil. Details on how to book tickets are available at BestCare.org by clicking on the "Celebrity Weekend" link.
