Helgenberger Has 'Synergy'

CSI Files

Captain
Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) has been cast in a new comedy film from the brothers who directed American Pie.

The movie, called Synergy, follows a middle-aged businessman, Dan Foreman, who is trying to adjust to working under his new boss, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Not only is his new boss in his twenties, he's also having an affair with Foreman's daughter.

Dennis Quaid (Frequency) has been cast as Foreman, with Helgenberger set to play his wife. Rising star Scarlett Johansson, who made her name in Lost In Translation, will play their daughter Alex, who is sleeping with Foreman's much younger boss (That '70s Show's Topher Grace).

Synergy was written by Paul Weitz, who will also direct the film, with his brother, Chris Weitz, serving as producer. The brothers previously directed American Pie and About A Boy, which they also co-wrote.

Although Helgenberger's best known roles, such as Karen Koloski on China Beach and Catherine Willows in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, have been on television, the actress is no stranger to the silver screen. Her film credits include Bad Boys, Species, Fire Down Below and, most recently, Erin Brockovich.

Synergy begins filming on March 15. The original Hollywood Reporter article can be found at Yahoo! News.
