Harper: This Season There's Girls And Guns

CSI Files

Captain
CSI: New York star Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes) is looking forward to development for his character during season six and the addition of a new cast member.
"This season there's girls and guns," Harper told TV Guide Magazine. During his most recent interview with CSI Files, the actor said his character would have a romantic relationship during the upcoming season. "He's going to get a love interest later in the season," Harper said, "and I solicited people on Twitter to see who they think we should cast. Some people say it should be Paula Patton, some people said Sanaa Lathan, some people said Gina Torres. Thandi Newton, too. So I'm excited about that."
After the shootout during the season five finale, "Pay Up", Hawkes will start to carry a gun. "I'm a doctor. I haven't been carrying a weapon, but since the season ended with us in peril, it may be time for the doctor to carry a weapon – which goes against my Hippocratic Oath," Harper explained.
As CSI Files previously reported, Sarah Carter will join the cast of New York during season six. "She's fantastic. I love the way they've created her character. The way she's coming in to the show is pretty special," Harper said. Castmate AJ Buckley (Adam Ross) added, "I have been the lucky one who has to share the screen with her. She's adorable. She basically shows up and there's some competition between her and I – some good hot girl-nerdy guy banter." However, that doesn't mean romance is in the air for the lab tech. "As of right now, no," Buckley said of the possibility that Adam would start a relationship with Carter's character. "But who knows where it goes? If I didn't feel sparks I wouldn't be a man!"
The original article is from TV Guide Magazine. I'm all about Gina Torres...mainly because I want her to play my love interest. ;) Total girlcrush, I'm not ashamed to admit it. :p

My only problem with what AJ said about Sarah's character is that it sounds like Kendall all over again. Hopefully the way they're introducing her will end up being every bit as interesting as Hill suggests it will be - and hopefully Sarah's character will be more likable than Kendall was. (Much to my disappointment, I wasn't a fan of Kendall when they introduced her, and she didn't get enough episodes to change my mind - I have enjoyed Bess Wohl in other roles, though.)

I don't think I can be more than (very) cautiously optimistic at this point, but I'm keeping my mind open. ;)
