CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's episode "Grissom v. Volcano" was the most watched show on television last night, helping CBS to score an overall victory for the evening.
According to Mediaweek, "Grissom v. Volcano" scored a 19.6 rating/28 share. This means that 19.6\% of households with television sets had them tuned into CSI, while 28\% of households watching TV during that hour were viewing the episode.
NBC's ER came in second place for the evening, with a 14.7/23. While CSI's lead out show, Without a Trace came in behind ER with a 13.2/20, it trailed ER by only 11\%.
The strong performances of Survivor: Pearl Islands, which, with its score of 13.5/20 scored its highest ratings this season, CSI, and Cold Case allowed CBs to win the night, with an overall rating of 15.4/23. CBS was 35\% ahead of second place NBC, which scored a 11.4/17 overall for the evening.
CSI's competitors at NBC, the half-hour comedies Will & Grace and Scrubs, came in second place. Will & Grace scored a 10.5/15 and Scrubs earned an 8.8/12. These scores are on par with the shows' typical ratings this season.
