Captain
The French magazine Telestar recently sat down with Jorja Fox to discuss her character's evolving storyline. The actress warned fans: it's not over for Sara.
"All I can tell you is that the writers keep promising to show a little bit of Sara's past," the actress said. Sara's personal storyline has been slowly developed through this season and hit a climax in the episode "Nesting Dolls", where it was revealed her mother killed her father after years of endured abuse, forcing Sara to spend an undetermined amount of time on foster care. "In the end, they always seem to find a dark story for her."
One of the storylines waiting to be consummated is the "will they/won't they" relationship between Sara and her boss, Gil Grissom. The romantic tension between the two characters began during the first season and might see the beginning of a resolution real soon, the actress revealed. "It's a story that never seems to end!" Fox joked. "But I think that, this year, we'll see them together a little."
Though Fox has appeared on many of the most successful television series, including ER, Law and Order, and The West Wing, the actress admitted acting was never in her plans. "When I was 5, I liked doing little skits for my family, but nothing more. As a child, my great love was the sea. In fact, despite my atypical body shape, I became a model. But I quickly understood, after several trips abroad, and in particular in Europe, that my career as a top model was very limited."
The actress's talent, however, is not, as each week Fox has to pretend to enjoy what she and her character have least in common: a love for forensic science. "Dissecting corpses, it's not really my cup of tea. I'm more of an artistic type."
