Fox Heads To Morocco On Good Will Trip

CSI Files

Captain
Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) will make a goodwill trip to Morocco this June in an attempt to create long lasting bonds with the country's Muslim women.

The actress will join friend Cheri Shankar, board member of several non-profit organizations in Los Angeles, in the Moroccan trip that will be coordinated by the Embassy of Morocco in Washington. The pair hope to connect with the women leaders of the country and disperse a message of friendship in places such as Fez, Casablanca, Marrakech, and the Sahara Desert.

"In this day and age, I believe it is of vital importance to find ways to transcend the stereotypes and misconceptions we might have of each other and to recognize how much we have in common," Fox told the Morocco Times. "The importance of family, our love of nature and beauty, and most of all our desire for freedom and equality, are ideals we all share."

Fox and Shankar will also propose a 2006 summit to celebrate women innovators from both countries called America-Morocco Friendship Conference of Women Innovators, and hope to encourage Americans to travel to the Muslim country. Friendship Caravan President Michael Kirtley and Moorish architectural designer Adil Naji will accompany Fox and Shankar to Morocco, as the two are responsible for sending the invitation to the pair.
