CSI Files
Captain
Sources today revealed the first plot information for the fourth episode of CSI: Miami's sophomore season.
"Hard Time" will reportedly deal with an attack on Peg Donovan, a young woman who has spent the last nine years recovering from being raped. Peg is found bashed to within an inch of her life in a Miami apartment only days before the man who raped her, John Detweiler, is due to have a parole hearing.
Horatio Caine smells a rat — Peg's testimony at Detweiler's last hearing ensured that he remained behind bars. But when he meets with Detweiler, the rapist denies all knowledge of the attack and challenges Horatio to prove he had any part in it.
Calleigh discovers Peg attended the Miami Beach rape support group on the night of the attack, just like she had every other Monday. Only that night there was a first-timer present, Karen Sherwood, who had coffee with Peg afterwards. But Karen isn't a rape victim — she served on the jury at John Detweiler's trial and then fell in love with him...
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.
"Hard Time" will likely air in October, 2003.
