CSI Files
Captain
Put together a science fair, a car bomb and a husband who claims to be a secret agent, and you've got one seriously explosive situation facing CSI: Crime Investigation's leading man in "Grissom V. Volcano".
Sources today revealed the first plot details for the episode, the ninth CSI: Crime Scene Investigation outing to go before the cameras this season. The episode reportedly revolves around a rent-a-car that explodes in front of the Tangiers, killing Adam Wexler, a United Stares Air Marshal. Wexler only ended up with the vehicle after a mix-up with his reserved car, so he wasn't the intended victim.
Roger Carlson, who claims to be in "sales", returned the car to the rental company the same night it exploded, but denies putting a bomb in the vehicle. But a forensic analysis of his clothes show that his shirt had traces of the same rocket fuel that was found in the car bomb. Roger has an easy explanation - he's been helping his son build a volcano for a science fair and spilt some of the chemicals on his clothes.
Sure enough, a visit to Roger's house reveals all the equipment for making a paper mache volcano. His wife, Beth Carlson, says she actually helped make the volcano with their son, while Roger just stood by and watched. Catherine asks her about Roger's "sales" job, which apparently keeps him away from home during the week. Beth says she actually thinks he works for the government and confides that Roger even told her he was a secret agent on one occasion.
As the CSIs slowly unravel the sordid reality of Roger Carlson's life, the trail of evidence will lead them to the science fair, where Grissom will come face to face with not one, but two volcanoes...
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.
"Grissom V. Volcano" will likely air in late 2003 or early 2004.
