CSI Files
Captain
The CSIs will be tested to the limit when they must track down two convicted criminals in the CSI: Miami season finale, "Body Count".
According to sources, the special 75-minute episode opens with Horatio Caine and Tim Speedle being called out to investigate a murder at the Miami-Dade Detention Centre. While they investigate the victim, stabbed with a toothbrush shank in the prison yard, Horatio notices a helicopter suddenly appear and land on the roof. Three inmates rush across the roof to the helicopter — the murder was just a decoy to distract the prison officers while they made an escape!
Two of the fugitives have special connections to the CSIs. The first, Hank Kerner, was awaiting trial and faced a life sentence without the possibility of the parole. After his flight, Kerner embarks on a killing spree, shooting four people, including the State Attorney. Calleigh was the CSI on his case, and she's not going to let anyone stop her from putting him back behind bars, which soon leads to a personality conflict with Detective Hagan.
The second escaped inmate is child molester Stewart Otis, who first appeared in "Broken" earlier in the season. Horatio suspects his next target is Emma, the 6-year-old daughter of his cell mate and fellow escapee, Richard Kaye, who was killed shortly after their flight from prison.
Stewart Otis was working on a disguise before he escaped, with spools of red, blue and grey thread found in his cell. When Horatio spots that the same colours on a the blazer worn at Emma's private school, the CSIs make a mad dash to the school, but they're too late — he's already abducted her. Now they must track down Otis before he harms Emma, or worse...
