First 'A Swing And A Miss' Plot Details

CSI Files

Captain
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will give the CSIs an eye-opening introduction into the world of swingers in its fifth episode this season, currently entitled "A Swing and a Miss".

According to CSI Files sources, the episode will open at swingers' party being held at a house in a swish Vegas gated community. The hosts, Erin and John Brady, are presiding over the hedonisitic bash, at which couples gather to have sex with other people's husbands and wives. Erin welcomes two new arrivals, Alex and Donna Stone, into the house, and they immediately strip off and jump into the fray. But the party is soon interrupted by a piercing scream...

Vanessa Keaton, an attendee at the party, has been found dead in a foundation in the street outside the house. Residents of the gated community soon gather at the scene, including Dennis Keaton, Vanessa's husband, who was also at the swingers' bash. He's distraught at his wife's death, not to mention quite drunk. When Brass arrives on the scene to question him, he doesn't give anything away about the nature of the party, merely telling the captain that he was too drunk and went home to bed.

When Vanessa's body is examined, two things stand out. Firstly, she was stabbed in the back with a sharp, pronged object. Secondly, and more curiously, she didn't die in the fountain. In the autopsy, it is revealed that she drowned in a different location, as the water found in her lungs is different to that in the fountain.

Grissom, Sara and Greg work the case and proceed to interview the chief suspects. Sara heads round to the Keaton's place to check out their swimming pool as a possible location for Vanessa's drowning. She's able to rule it out straight away -- it's been completely drained.

Over at the Brady's house, Grissom can't find any evidence of a struggle, and heads inside to check out the house. In the kitchen he finds some skewers left over from the party the night before, looking suspiciously like an implement that may have been used to kill Vanessa.

His curiosity piqued, Grissom asks Erin Brady where he can find the rest of the skewers. She says she doesn't know, but Grissom notices that the diswasher is running. As he moves to open the dishwasher, the Bradys look on nervously wondering how Grissom will react to the surprises it contains...

The episode will also reportedly see the promotion of Ecklie, Grissom's day shift nemesis, to the position of Assistant Director of the Las Vegas crime lab. Catherine decides to apply for Ecklie's old job as day shift supervisor...but how will Grissom react?

Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The information comes from an early draft of the script and aspects of the episode may change before it goes to air.

"A Swing and a Miss" will likely air in late 2004.

I SHOULDNT HAVE STUMBLED ON HERE!!!!!.i heard about cath....all i can say is..DONT GO!... :(..shes the 2nd coolest female on the team!!! :(

I don't think she'll leave either! I think it's just to make us worry, so that we'll realize how important she is.. :D
I just love all the people on the CSI team! don't wanna lose any of them!

I'm glad this storyline will come, because I always thought Catherine could work much higher and could easily lead a CSI-team herself. The only time we saw her interested in a higher position before was in The Strip Strangler.

I hope we actually get to see Ecklie again!
Not that they just talk about him. He's one of my fav "evil characters" in a tv show :D.

Ahhh!! I hope this isnt true either. I reas the thing about Lindsey in 'Harvest' and I hope that still isnt true. Even though Catherine deserves this SO much, she can't leave the team. That means she will leave the shift and work at a different time than the others. But, Marg isnt leaving the show AND Cath is one of the other mmore mian characters so it just wouldnt work..........right? Ahh!!!

Oh! I swear I just thought of this after I posted this! What if the title 'A Swing and A Miss' has double meaning? Meaning it goes with the case...AND it means Catherine doesnt get the job? Oh! It makes me feel all tingly!! LOL

Sweet Jorja
