Ferlito Aims To Make Her Mark

CSI Files

Captain
Vanessa Ferlito (Aiden Burn) is still adjusting to the idea of being on this fall's most anticipated show, CSI: New York.

The actress told Variety (via Yahoo!News) that viewers can expect CSI: New York to be significantly different from its predecessors. "They don't get much better than Gary Sinise," Ferlito said of New York's leading man. "This is going to be different than other CSIs. They're going to get deeper and more personal with the characters. The stories unique and interesting."

Ferlito has the utmost faith in the show, but she's still adjusting to the idea of the fame it will inevitably bring her. "I don't see myself as famous," she said. "I'm still the girl who when people are looking at me, I'm thinking, 'What are they looking at?' I think about how I'm gonna be in 27 million or so houses each week, and that's a gift."

That doesn't mean Ferlito will be playing it safe by any means. She hopes to carve out her own path in Hollywood. "I admire a lot of actors for their choices, but I sort of just want my own," she said. "I don't want to be like anybody."

The versitile actress, who has already had roles in 24, The Sopranos and Spiderman 2 also appears in several upcoming films. "I'm so interested in seeing what my upcoming movies (Cheer Up, The Tollbooth) ...are going to be like. I love doing all of them. I've played a bunch of different roles--Latin, Italian, all-American, Southern--and been doing a bunch of different accents so far."
