Captain
New CSI: Miami regular Jonathan Togo (Ryan Wolfe) was aware he had big shoes to fill when he joined the show to replace Rory Cochrane (Tim Speedle).
"At first I was very intimidated," Togo told newsmagazine Entertainment Tonight. "It's such a great show, the calibre of acting on it is probably at the highest level of television, but everyone has been so incredibly welcoming. It's really just such an honour as an actor to be working with these guys."
Togo will make his debut in Monday night's episode, entitled "Under The Influence", in which a young woman dies after being pushed in front of a moving bus. His character, Ryan Wolfe, is a patrolman completing his master's degree in genetics. "He has a background in science, so it interests him to join the group and behooves his personality to become part of an elite, crime-fighting unit."
But what Ryan Wolfe may find a piece of cake doesn't always come easily to Jonathan Togo. In particular, the actor is having trouble filming the laboratory-based scenes where the cast carry out scientific procedures. "These guys make it look so easy!" Togo said. "I'm left handed and right brained, so I'll have to beef up the other side of the brain, I guess."
Despite the teething problems David Caruso (Horatio Caine) said Togo will fit right in on CSI: Miami. "Jonathan is very special and very original. I think people will grasp that immediately. He's got a lot of interesting influences. A little bit of Jake Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman, and those are some pretty interesting people."
