Diddy Makes His Debut

CSI Files

Captain
There's a new nemesis in town.
Rapper-turned-actor Sean "Diddy" Combs is making his primetime debut in this week's episode of CSI: Miami. "I made a statement last year that I was going to aggressively pursue my acting career," Combs told Entertainment Tonight. "I sat down with CBS, and they were interested in what I wanted to do." A day after speaking to the network, Combs was contacted and offered the role of Derek Powell, a defense attorney making his first appearance in tonight's episode, "Presumed Guilty".
Combs' character goes head to head with Miami's leading man, Horatio Caine (David Caruso). "I always wanted to play a lawyer," the actor shared. "It seems like I set up one of my clients to get off one of my other clients who I have been representing for 10 years. He is like a Johnny Cochran. He knows he is smart. He is everybody's nemesis."
Horatio thinks Powell is involved in covering up a murder, but he doesn't think the attorney is necessarily a bad guy. "I think he is skirting the line between right and wrong, as does the legal system to some degree," Caruso explained. "The interesting thing is while the line gets blurred, I think as a human being, the character is a valuable character."
The original information, as well as a clip from "Presumed Guilty", is from ET Online.
