NEW YORK – DAY
A business man checks into the 70 Park Avenue Hotel at 38th Street. Walks towards the elevators up to his room. In our view is the door to room 3142. The man opens the door to his hotel room – In the room is a woman who checked in earlier.
Woman: It’s about time you got here.
Man: Sorry. It’s business nothing personal.
They kiss....things become passionate...
NEW YORK. DAY.
A body in the basement. Flack and Stella wait behind the CSI tech who snaps the photos. She removes a ring and places it in a bindle.
(Stella turns and heads over to Mac, who just walks in.)
STELLA: Hey.
MAC: Hey. What do we have?
They both walk towards the body.
STELLA: About, uh, ten thousand sheets and one dead body.
(Mac looks in at the body. The woman’s neck is slashed.)
FLACK: Safe to say she's not an employee.
STELLA: Maybe she's a tourist. Tough way to see the city.
MAC: So she came in with the sheets. Where do they come from?
FLACK: Hotels. Don't worry, there's only about 70,000 hotel rooms in this
town.
STELLA: Right. Gives us a 70,000-to-one chance of finding out where she came
from.
MAC: (nods) I'll take those odds.
STELLA (Walks around the crime scene) : So, I’ve heard you hired a new CSI.
MAC: Temporarily.
STELLA: Huh, Is that a new term for an inter n.
MAC: She’s not an inter n, she’s a detective, besides we need all the help we can get.
STELLA (Looks back at Mac with a smile) : Ah, I see.
MAC Ignores STELLA’S comment, they continue to process the scene.
Back at the Lab...
Hawkes and Mac put the body down on the plastic sheet on the floor. Hawkes
moves some hair aside and looks at the slash on the victim’s neck.
HAWKES: I'd say this laceration transected the left carotid.
It's hard to tell what type of weapon the killer used, but ... this
looks ...
STELLA: ... personal.
HAWKES: Yeah. And ... pathological.
Hawkes indicates the cuts on her arms and legs.
MAC: These are precise cuts.
STELLA: Speaks to control over her body.
MAC: Killer had control over her somehow.
STELLA: "Lynford Hotels." They have about what, twelve places in the city?
MAC: It's a unique blood pattern.
STELLA: The volume of the blood is consistent with arterial spray.
MAC: So she wasn't just wrapped in this sheet and dumped.
STELLA: No, she was lying on this sheet when her throat was cut.
MAC: Some kind of void in the blood pattern
STELLA: Larger concentration being here. And this looks like the blood is
dripping off the side of the bed.
MAC: Right now, all we have to go on is this sheet and our victim's body.
STELLA: Right. Divide and conquer? I'll start with ...
MAC: missing persons.
STELLA: I could have just as easily said the sheet.
MAC: Our victim is an attractive young woman with manicured nails and expensive lingerie. We found her in upscale hotel sheets. Odds are someone's looking for her and you to make sure that they don't have to look any longer than necessary. I'll take the sheets. I'll meet you back at the ME's office.
STELLA: You're good.
BACK at the morgue...............
While HAWKES and MAC examine the body – an unknown woman comes in into the lab.
ELISABETH: Good Morning Detective.
MAC(Looks at ELISABETH): Can I help you?
ELISABETH: My name is Elisabeth Evelyn Rose – I’m your new CSI.
HAWKES looks impressed. As he watches them talk pretending to continue to examine the body.
MAC: Detective Mac Taylor. What took you so long?
ELISABETH: Traffic. Sorry.
MAC isn’t amused by her comment.
MAC: Well we need you to start right away. We found a body of a woman in a hotel basement.
This is our ME – Dr. Sheldon Hawkes.
HAWKES: Hi.
ELISABETH: Hi.
They shake hands.
MAC: The rest of the team is on the scene.......and that’s where you will start.
Back at the crime scene....
DANNY: This is why I never stay at hotels...a lot of things can happen.
FLACK ( smilling): You know they got room service 24 hours, right.
DANNY: Funny. Well I’m sure this ain’t part of it.
FLACK: Sure is a lot of blood.
STELLA is knelt near the bed – where the pool of blood is. Flack is standing next to her.
STELLA: Her throat was slid , and there were signs of defence wounds.
DANNY(Looking around the room): I guess we can rule out suicide. BOOM!
Danny found a cigarette butt on the floor near a night stand.
FLACK: What did you find?
DANNY: A cigarette butt lying on the floor. Our killer is a smoker.
FLACK: That doesen’t exactly narrow our search.
DANNY: But the DNA on the cigarette will.
STELLA: No sign of our murder weapon.
A Young woman enters the crime scene.
FLACK: Uh, excuse me Ma’am, behind the tape please – this is an active crime scene.
ELISABETH: No, I’m a CSI.
DANNY & STELLA look up. DANNY looks quite interested.
STELLA: You must be Elisabeth.
ELISABETH: Hi.
STELLA: My name is Detective Stella Bonasera.
They shook hands.
That’s Detective Don Flack. Don Smiled. Slightly blushed.
“Hi” he managed.
DANNY: I’m Detective Danny Messer. Hi, How ya doin’?
ELISABETH smiled at his accent.
ELISABETH: Elisabeth Evelyn Rose.
DANNY smiled.
ELISABETH: So, where do I start?
STELLA: Right now were just looking for any evidence that leads us to our killer.
I’m checking the bedroom, Danny is on the hallway...
ELISABETH: I’ll take the bathroom.
STELLA chuckled.
FLACK: Good luck!
ELISABETH takes off to the bathroom.
DANNY walks back into the bedroom.
DANNY: How long do you think is she gonna last before MAC fires her.
STELLA: DANNY, be nice.
FLACK: I think the better question is how long is it gonna be before you hit on her.
DANNY Laughed. STELLA looked shocked.
TO BE CONTINUED.................
PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENT AS THEY WILL BE HELPFUL FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENT. THANK YOU.
