CSIs Unpack 'Stacking Dolls' In Abuse Investigation

CSI Files

Captain
The discovery of the corpses of two unidentified women will reportedly lead to the uncovering of a shocking tale of domestic violence in the upcoming CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode, "Stacking Dolls".

Sara Sidle will be given the task of tracking down the identities of the two women, who have been discovered covered in tar with their fingers cut off, according to CSI Files sources. Their bodies are covered by horrific injuries, especially on their faces, leading the CSIs to suspect the women are the victims of domestic abuse. Using a facial reconstruction of one of the women, Sara works through the files chronicling reported cases of domestic violence, until she discovers one that matches — Svetlana Miller.

Her husband, Andrew Miller, is the subject of the abuse report, and he is summoned to the LVPD for questioning. He comes in accompanied by his new wife, a nubile young Asian woman barely out of her teens. Catherine and Sara confront him with the evidence, but Andrew swears he never hit Svetlana, telling them that women must be respected and valued. Sara doesn't buy his platitudes and continues to question him in a hostile manner, but Catherine reins her in. Andrew continues to maintain that he had nothing to do with Svetlana's injuries, claiming that the abuse report is backed up by no viable evidence — he was simply arrested one night for domestic violence after Svetlana didn't come home from work. He says he filed for divorce, but she never returned to sign the papers.

The CSIs discover that Svetlana worked for a certain "Madame Matryoshka", whose real name is the far less exotic Chloe Endicott. Chloe tells Nick and Brass that Svetlana was simply one of many young women she brought across from Eastern European countries to be sold off to any rich American man who is willing to pay for them. After Svetlana married Andrew Miller, Chloe set her up with a job as a hairdresser at her "salon", which is merely a front for her mail-order bride business.

Nick and Brass pay a visit to one of Svetlana's regular clients, Ken Wellstone. He swears that their relationship was strictly professional — she cut his hair, he paid her. But Brass spots a photo of the two sharing an ice cream on Ken's wall, suggesting that their relationship had crossed the line from business to pleasure...

Well, according to YTDAW, the case is worked by Catherine, Warrick, Nick, and Sara. I guess the case overlaps both shifts.
