CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's fourth season will reportedly open with a two-part episode focusing on an unusual type of serial killer.
Cast and crew began production on "Homebodies" earlier this week, but it will actually be the third episode aired, according to the William Petersen Appreciation Page. The site said viewers should "look for something CSI has never done before for the season premiere".
Sources today told CSI Files the season premiere will likely be "Assume Nothing", which will be the second episode to go into production. "Assume Nothing" is reportedly the first half of a two-part story, which will conclude in the second episode of CSI's fourth season.
The episode reportedly deals with husband-and-wife serial killers, who get their kicks by luring other open-minded couples into hotel rooms with the promise of sex and then murdering them. Their first victims are Mr. and Mrs. Dominguez, who are staying at the upmarket Sphere Hotel. The killers entice the Dominguezes to go to a strip club, plying them with alcohol and getting them in the mood with a lap dance or four. Their second victims - Mr. and Mrs. Laggerman - are found on the other side of town, in a seedy motel.
Grissom and the team gain an insight into the killers' minds when talking to one couple who turned them down on the same night the other couples were murdered. Kent and Natasha Rifkin, late twenties and bags of money, were holidaying in Las Vegas and looking for a good time when they were approached by the serial killers. The Rifkins tell Grissom and Brass they went up to a suite with the other couple, only to flee when Kent was asked how much he loved Natasha and how far he'd go to prove it.
After studying the crime scenes - both female victims were found in chairs with their throats cut - Grissom and Catherine formulate a theory. They posit that the killers force the husbands to kill their wives, with the threat that they will both die if they don't. But the husbands clearly don't get away free - the bodies of both Mr. Dominguez and Mr. Laggerman are in the vicinity of their wives. They CSIs have their theory, but now they have to find their suspects, and convince the judge it was them...
"Assume Nothing" will also reportedly deal with the trial of Sam Braun after the events of last season's finale "Inside The Box".
Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's fourth season will likely debut in late September.
