Stargate Digital, the company behind the special effects for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, will be working on a new pilot for NBC.
The production is tenatively titled Las Vegas, and will focus on a casino security team according to reviewjournal.com.
Los Angeles-based Stargate Digitial are in town with an impressive task at hand. They'll be shooting a one-minute continuous sequence that "will traverse the Strip, zooming past landmarks, under gaming tables, through keyholes, inside bedrooms — and, of course, past images of the show's major characters," according to the site.
Stargate Digital's other work includes effects for ER, The Dead Zone and modern-day Twilight Zone.
The pilot stars James Caan whose credits include The Gambler to Honeymoon in Vegas. The three-week shoot begins today in Las Vegas.
As with all pilots, only a handful ever get picked up by the networks to become a series.
